A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the twenty-fourth section of "The Land
Act, 1877," it is enacted that the Governor, by Pro-
clamation in the Gazette, may from time to time establish,
and define, abolish, alter, or reconstitute local districts for
the sale or disposal of land, and in like manner from time to
time may appoint Land Officers or other persons for con-
ducting sales of lands in such local districts, and for receiving
applications for the sale, letting, disposal, or occupation of
Crown lands, and for generally carrying into effect the
provisions of the said Act :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint the under-mentioned persons to be the Land Officers
for the several districts set opposite the names of such
persons respectively for conducting sales of land, and for
receiving applications for the sale, letting, and disposal or
occupation of Crown lands, and for generally carrying into
effect the provisions of the said Act within the said districts,
as established by Proclamation under the hand of His
Excellency the Governor, dated the sixteenth day of January,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight:β
John Spence . . . . Invercargill.
Appointment takes effect as from the first October, 1884.
William Horton Revell . . Lawrence and Switzers.
John Smith Hickson . . Clyde and Queenstown.
Henry Aldborough Stratford . . Naseby.
The appointments to take effect from the first January,
1885.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most
Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the
Seal of the said Colony, at Christchurch, this
twenty-ninth day of December, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
four.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the fiftieth section of "The Land
Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1882," and of every other power
and authority enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby declare that the sections of land enume-
rated in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the pro-
visions of sections three to forty-eight of "The Land Act 1877
Amendment Act, 1882."
