by public auction, at the Council Chambers, Napier, on
Friday, the 13th March, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon.

Terms: One-fourth cash, balance within a month.

Mining Notices.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.

Tuapeka, 13th February, 1885.

To the Warden at Lawrence.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-
race, to divert and use water for milling purposes,
from Gabriel's Gully, commencing at a point on the east
side of Gabriel's Gully, opposite John Pope's house, and ter-
minating at the Derwent Street Bridge.
The length of such water-race will be about one mile or
thereabouts, and its intended course is south-west.
The greatest depth of such water-race will be 2 feet, and
the mean breadth is 3 feet; and it is proposed to divert
twenty Government-heads of water.

Awatere Road Board to take, for the purposes of a
public road, all that land, 100 links wide, running through
Sections Nos. 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, freehold land in the Crown-
grant District of Clarence.
Plans of the land may be seen at the office of the Awatere
Road Board, Blenheim.
All persons having any well-grounded objections to the
taking of such land are hereby required to set forth the same
in writing, and send such writing to the Chairman of the
Awatere Road Board, Blenheim, within forty days from this
date.
