Works is satisfied that it would be unreasonable that the Borough Council of the said borough should defray the whole cost of maintaining the same:

Now, therefore, I, George Marsden Waterhouse, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by the said Act, and o every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, do hereby appoint the Hamilton Borough Council as the local body to have control of the said Hamilton Traffic Bridge as from the twenty-fifth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four; and I do hereby apportion the cost of maintaining the said bridge as from the date last aforesaid between the Borough Council of Hamilton and the County Council of Waipa and the County Council of Waikato respectively. One-half of such cost is to be paid by the Hamilton Borough Council, and one-quarter of such cost is to be paid to the said Borough Council by each of the County Councils of Waipa and Waikato respectively.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Honourable George Marsden Waterhouse, as such Deputy of the said Governor as aforesaid, this twenty-third day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Approving and appointing a Kerosene Bonding Warehouse.

Alterations and Additions to Scale of Fares and Charges in force on New Zealand Railways.

IN accordance with section 144 of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” I, Edwin Mitchelson, the Minister for Public Works, do hereby make the following alteration and addition to the scale of charges, to come into force on and after the 11th day of August, 1884 :

PART III.—GOODS.

REGULATIONS.

Clause 12.—Heavy wagons, over one ton in weight, will be charged rate and a half.

PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.

WHANGAREI SECTION.

Class M.

Goods of Class M carried to or from the railway wharf will be charged 10s. per truck.

Class K.—Invercargill.

White pine consigned to Invercargill Jetty for export to Australian ports will be charged the same as for the Bluff.
