A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Mackenzie County, Provincial District of Canterbury:
And whereas the Mackenzie County Council has laid before the Deputy Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, George Marsden Waterhouse, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by section eleven of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so described shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 12 perches, being portion of Rural Section No. 29874, in the Provincial District of Canterbury; commencing at a point on the northern boundary of said section distant 1417 links from the most easterly corner thereof. Bounded as follows: Northerly by a line, 1053 links; Westerly by a line, 180 links; Southerly by a line, 530 links; South-easterly by a line to commencing point, 594 links: as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 11798, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
Given under the hand of the Honourable George Marsden Waterhouse, for and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for further portion of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway, namely, part of the branch from main line to Upper Ashburton:
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, George Marsden Waterhouse, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.
SCHEDULE.
ASHBURTON CONTRACT.
Section No. 5249.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood 7 perches, situate in the Survey District of Westerfield, being portion of Rural Section No. 5249; commencing at the southernmost corner thereof. Bounded—Southerly by a public road, 101 links; North-easterly by a line, 589 links; Westerly by the western boundary of said section, 580 links, to commencing point.
Section No. 20339.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 17 acres and 22 perches, situate in the Survey District of Westerfield, being portion of Rural Section No. 20339; commencing at the southernmost corner thereof. Bounded—South-westerly by a public road, 17458 links; North-easterly by a public road 121 links, and by a line
