SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land situated in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 400 acres, more or less, and being Section No. 387 on the plan of Block IX., in the Wairoa Survey District.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in the Taranaki Land District.

WHEREAS the provisions and the requirements of the seventh section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” have been duly complied with in respect of the lands described in the first column of the Schedule hereto: And whereas notices in the Gazette have been duly published for four consecutive weeks, and laid before both Houses of the Assembly, as provided by the ninth section of the said Act: And whereas no resolution of either House of Assembly has been passed that such House does not concur in the intention declared in any such notices:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the seventh section of the Act aforesaid, do hereby define the change of purpose of the land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be that named in the second column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve. Purpose.
All that parcel of land in the Township of Waitara, Provincial District of Taranaki, being Block 115, and containing 15 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North-west by Cameron Street; towards the North-east by Browne Street; towards the South-east by Whitaker Street; and towards the South-west by Cracroft Street. Reserved as a site for buildings or other purposes of the General Government. For a recreation-ground.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve. Portion of which the Purpose is changed. Purpose.
Reserve No. 869 (in red): All that tract of land, 40 chains wide, commencing at the western end of Reserve No. 868 (in red); thence following along the southern shore of Lake Sumner and the slopes of the hills on the south side of the Hurunui Valley to the summit of the dividing range, a distance of about twenty-two miles. For railway purposes. All that parcel of land in the Katrine Survey District, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing 100 acres, more or less, being part of Reserve No. 869 (in red). Bounded—Northward by the Hurunui River, about 3500 links; Westward by a true north and south line, 2850 links; Southward by a true east and west line, 3500 links; and Eastward by a line parallel to the western boundary, 2870 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; and numbered 2629 (in red) on the official map in the Survey Office, Christchurch. Recreation and Thermal Springs Reserve.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Approving Time of Meeting of Land Board.

WHEREAS by the first subsection of the twenty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Board shall sit at such Land Office within the district as the Governor shall appoint (which shall be called the Principal Land Office), at certain times to be determined by the Board, and approved of by the Governor, and published in the Gazette:

And whereas by a warrant under the hand of the Governor, dated the twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, certain Land Offices were appointed to be the Principal Land Offices for the several districts constituted under the said Act:

And whereas the Land Board hereunder mentioned has determined the time at which the Board shall sit at the said Principal Land Office:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in further pursuance of the hereinbefore recited powers, do hereby approve of the time so determined by the said Land Board; and I declare that this approval shall operate and take effect as and from the respective time at which the said Land Board so determined the time or sitting as aforesaid:—

Canterbury: Every alternate Thursday, at noon, commencing from Thursday, the seventeenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

As witness the hand of his Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor may, from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the one hundred and forty-fifth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said one hundred and forty-fourth section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than six months
