Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Ahaura on or before the 5th day of February, 1884.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Ahaura.


SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: Richard Larkin. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “Larkin’s Lease.” 5 acres, south side of Try Again Road, Try Again Terrace, Ahaura, Grey, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.

Applicants: Robert James Pitchers and another. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “Eureka Gold- and Quartz-Mining Company, No. 2.” 12 acres, Obelisk Range, north of Eureka Gold- and Quartz-Mining Company’s Lease, and north-east of Advance Company’s Lease, in the Dunstan Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this sixteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Christchurch, 7th December, 1883.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for application for cash and on deferred payments, at the Land Office, Christchurch, on Friday, the 1st February, 1884:—

RESERVE 198, VILLAGE SETTLEMENT, SITUATE AT JUNCTION OF RIVERS HURUNUI AND WAITOHI.

Thirteen sections, from 40 to 50 acres; price £3 to £7 10s. per acre.

Plans and posters containing full particulars may be seen at the Land Offices, Christchurch and Timaru, and principal post offices and railway stations in the Canterbury Land District, on and after the 1st January, 1884.
