Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section one hundred and forty-four of “The Land Act, 1877,” if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the second column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve. Intended Purpose.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, situate in the Township of Outram, and being Section No. 8, Block II., of said township. Bounded towards the North-west by Holyhead Street, 100 links; towards the North-east by Section No. 9 of same block, 200 links; towards the South-east by Skerries Street, 100 links; and towards the South-west by Section No. 7 of same block, 250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. Reserved for a Volunteer drillshed site. For a site for a public hall.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fifth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, West Coast (North Island), Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, West Coast (North Island), Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that parcel of land called or known as Section No. 215, Parish of Takapuna, situate in the Waitemata Survey District, in the Provincial District of Auckland, and containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the North generally by the Kaipatiki Creek; thence towards the East by Section No. 214 of the Parish of Takapuna, 415 links; thence towards the South generally by a road, 175 links, 158 links, 150 links, 197 links, 126 links, 134 links, 466 links, and 213 links, to the Kaipatiki Creek aforesaid: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a plantation reserve.

All that parcel of land called or known as Section No. 216 of the Parish of Takapuna, situate in the Waitemata Survey District, in the Provincial District of Auckland, and containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 26 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by a road, 520 links; thence towards the East by a road, 261 links; thence towards the South-west by a road, 105 links and 337 links; thence towards the West by a road, 42 links, 120 links, and 202 links; thence towards the North-west by a road, 200 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a plantation reserve.

All that parcel of land called or known as Section No. 217 of the Parish of Takapuna, situate in the Waitemata Survey District, in the Provincial District of Auckland, and containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 1 perch, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by a road, 581 links; thence towards the South-east by a road, 780 links; thence towards the West by a road, 548 links; thence towards the North-west by a road, 237 links; thence towards the West again by a road, 337 links; and towards the North-west by a road, 302 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a plantation reserve.
