Land Transfer Act Notices.
APPLICATION having been made to me by ALEXANDER LYON and ARTHUR LYON to register certain dealings affecting Rural Section No. 35078 and parts of a closed road partly bounding and partly intersecting Rural Section No. 1922, situated in the County of Akaroa, and contained in license to occupy and certificate of title, Vol. xcvi., folio 73 respectively, whereof FREDERIC LYON is the registered Proprietor, and a statutory declaration of the loss of the said license to occupy and certificate of title having been lodged with me, I hereby give notice that I shall register such dealings at the expiration of fourteen days after the date of the Gazette containing this notice, unless in the meantime a caveat be lodged forbidding the same.

Mining Notices.
“THE MINES ACT, 1877.”
To the Mining Registrar at Cromwell of the Dunstan Mining District, and all other persons whom it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-race and divert water for other than mining purposes, to wit, for irrigation purposes, commencing at a point about one-third of the distance up a tributary of the Luggate Creek, known as Russell’s Gully, and terminating at Maidman’s farm, Mount Barker.
The length of such race will be about five miles.
The mean width of race will be 2 feet, and mean depth 1 foot; and it is intended to divert two Government-heads of water.

To the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Takitimo District, Invercargill, and all other persons whom it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is our intention to divert and lift water out of Taylor’s Creek, eastward, for Water-race, commencing at a point marked by pegs, and running westward 240 chains through Village Reserve, and terminating on the banks of Waiau River. The storm-channels or by-wash for same will be the natural bed of Taylor’s Creek.
Mean depth of such race, 4 feet; mean breadth, 8 feet; and it is proposed to divert eight Government-heads of water.
Time to complete the above, twelve months.

SOUTHLAND COUNTY.
PURSUANT to the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” it is hereby publicly notified that the Southland County Council require the land described hereunder for the purpose of a public road. A plan, marked V, and description of the same, will be open for public inspection at the Council’s Office, Invercargill, at all reasonable hours for a period of forty days from date hereof.
All persons affected by the taking of said land are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections thereto, and to serve the same upon the County Clerk at Invercargill before the expiration of forty days from date hereof.
Description of Land.—All that piece or parcel of land in Southland District, containing by admeasurement three acres and six-tenths of a perch, more or less, being a portion of Education Reserve, Section 48, Block III., New River Hundred. Bounded as follows, namely: Commencing at the south-west corner of Section 48 aforesaid; thence bearing 90° 0′ 30″ a distance of 2000 links; thence bearing 30°, 1000 links; thence bearing 270° 0′ 30″, 203·7 links; thence 180° 0′ 30″, 100 links; thence 90° 0′ 30″, 103·7 links; thence 180° 0′ 30″, 800 links; thence 270° 0′ 30″, 1900 links; thence 180° 0′ 30″, 100 links, to the starting point.
