powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the portion of the Puatahi-West Coast Road shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, and delineated in the plan marked P.W.D. 11302, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, in the said colony.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that road-line, of an average width of 100 links, intersecting the Puatahi Native Reserve, Hoteo Block, Tauhoa Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, and containing approximately 13 acres 2 roods, more or less, commencing at a point on the south-eastern boundary of the Puatahi Native Reserve aforesaid distant 5150 links from the Hoteo River, and running thence in a north-westerly direction, 2500 links; thence running in a north-easterly direction through the Puatahi Native Settlement, 11000 links, to the Hoteo Bridge: be all the above areas and linkages either more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 11302, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Vaccination Districts constituted.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in the Governor by “The Public Health Act, 1876,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing vaccination district known as the Hawera District; and do declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two vaccination districts, the names whereof shall be the Waimate Plain and Hawera Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1880.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Notification that Her Majesty has relinquished Negotiations in respect of certain Native Lands in the North Island.

IN pursuance of the provisions of “The Government Native Land Purchases Act, 1877,” and “The Government Native Land Purchases Act Amendment Act, 1878,” it is hereby notified that Her Majesty the Queen has relinquished negotiations in respect of the blocks of Native land in the North Island which are more particularly described and mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

PUTAUKI NO. 2.

ALL those two parcels of land in the District of Bay of Plenty, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known as Putauaki No. 2, containing together by admeasurement 2,416 acres, more or less: the northern portion containing 2,116 acres; bounded towards the North by the Tarawera River and by the Parish of Matata along the confiscation boundary-line, 4875 links, 14096 links, and 5824 links; towards the East and South-east by the Matahina No. 1 Block, 2239 links, 4004 links, and 8588 links; and towards the South-west by the Putauaki No. 1 Block, 24100 links: the southern portion containing 300 acres; bounded towards the North by the Putauaki No. 1 Block, 7227 links; towards the South-east by the Matahina No. 1 Block, 12100 links; towards the West and South-west by the Pokohu No. 1 Block, 7432 links and 4530 links.

MANAWATU-KUKUTAUKI NO. 4D.

All that parcel of land in the District of Otaki, in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 987 acres, more or less, being the portion of the Manawatu-Kukutauaki No. 4D Block excepted from sale to the Crown, as shown by the plan in the Survey Office, Wellington.

WHAKAMARU-MAUNGAITI.

All that parcel of land at Patetere, in the District of Waikato, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name of Whakamaru-Maungaiti, containing by admeasurement 95,000 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east and North by the Tokoroa No. 1, Tokoroa No. 2, and Tikorangi Blocks, 22669 links, 11644 links, 47299 links, 36091 links, and 25900 links; towards the East by the Rahopaka and Taahunaatara Streams and by the Rotomahana-Parekarangi Block, 24894 links, 19671 links, and 6533 links; towards the South by the Waikato River; and towards the West and North-west by the Waikato River aforesaid, by the Kopokoratu Stream, and by the Maraetai Block, 11855 links, 9497 links, 13907 links, 9807 links, and 3016 links.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this ninth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.
