I, JOHN EDWIN MACDONALD, Chief Judge of the Native
Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty
imposed upon me by "The Native Land Laws Amendment
Act, 1883," give notice that on the 23rd day of May, 1884, the
title to the lands mentioned in the Schedule herein became,
within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained; and, further,
that dealings with the said lands will cease to be prohibited
by the provisions of the said Act on the 2nd day of July, 1884.

Esq., Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, has,
by virtue of the power vested in him, ordered that the sitting
of this Court at Maketu, previously adjourned by him to the
5th day of June next, be further adjourned to the 5th day of
August, 1884.

PATENT for Improvements in Apparatus for preventing
Waste of and for supplying Water in fixed quantities
to any place desired, to be called "Danks's Waste-water
Preventative."
THOMAS DANKS, of Christchurch, New Zealand, Engineer,
has deposited at this office a specification of the said inven-
tion; and I have appointed Thursday, the 4th day of Sep-
tember next, at 12 o'clock noon, at this office, to hear the said
application and all objections thereto; and I require all
persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such
Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 20th day of August
next, at this office, particulars in writing of their objections
to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded
from urging the same.
