At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, 1884.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by "The Education Act, 1877," the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the colony, doth make the regulation hereto annexed prescribing the fees to be paid at the Masterton District High School, and, with the like advice and consent, doth prescribe that this order shall take effect from the date hereof.
REGULATION.
In the District High School at Masterton the fees for higher education within the meaning of section 56 of "The Education Act, 1877," shall beβFor one subject twenty shillings a quarter, and for each additional subject ten shillings a quarter.

Extending Time for Preparation of Burgess Roll of Borough of Hawera.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of May, 1884.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that certain things required to be done by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," in connection with the making and revision of the burgess lists or rolls of the Borough of Hawera, cannot be done by or within the time required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the twelfth section of the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the doing of the said things in connection with the burgess lists or rolls of the said Borough of Hawera, and doth declare that the time for the doing of such several things shall be those which are specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.

For making out the burgess list: On or before the 30th May, 1884.

Public notification of the burgess list, and the defaulters' list being ready for inspection: On or before the 3rd June, 1884.

Burgess and defaulters' list open for inspection, and delivery of objections thereto: Until the 16th June, 1884.

Inspection of list of objections: From the 16th June to the 20th June, 1884.

Sitting of Council to determine claims and objections: Between the 20th June and the 25th June, 1884.

Burgess roll to come into force: On the 28th June, 1884.

IN exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by "The Industrial Societies Act, 1883," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby incorporate the members of the Industrial Association of Canterbury into a corporate body under the said Act, under the style and title of "The Industrial Association of Canterbury."

Delegation of Powers under "The Mines Act, 1877."

WHEREAS by the one hundredth section of "The Mines Act, 1877," the Governor is empowered to delegate to the Chairman of the County Council of any county in any mining district all the powers vested in the Governor by subsections four and five of section fifty-one of that Act:
Now, therefore, I, Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said Act, delegate unto the Chairman for the time being of the County Council of Waitaki all the powers vested in the Governor by section fifty-one of "The Mines Act, 1877," of making, altering, and amending and revoking rules and regulations for the purposes contained in subsections four and five of the said section fifty-one; and I do hereby declare that the powers hereby delegated shall be exercised and performed only over the mining reserves in Blocks IX. and X., Maerewhenua Survey District, within the said County of Waitaki, and by and with the consent of the County Council of the said County of Waitaki.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Appointing a Polling-place for East Coast Electoral District.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time appoint, alter, and abolish polling-places for each electoral district within the limits thereof; and that after the issue of a writ for an election in any district, and until such election is over, no change shall be made in the polling-places appointed for such district, unless such election cannot be held without some such change being made:
And whereas by warrant dated the ninth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, the Governor appointed the schoolhouse, Tokomaru, to be a polling-place for the Electoral District of East Coast, and the said schoolhouse has since been destroyed by fire:
And whereas a writ was on the twenty-fourth day of May instant issued, addressed to the Returning Officer for the said Electoral District of East Coast, commanding him to proceed to the election of a member to serve in the House of Representatives for the said district; but such election cannot be held without the appointment of a polling-place at Tokomaru, in the place of the schoolhouse so destroyed by fire as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
The Residence of Mr. Robert Warner, at Tokomaru,
to be a polling-place for the Electoral District of East Coast, in lieu of the schoolhouse so destroyed by fire as aforesaid.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this third day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.
