Notice of Intention to take Additional Land near Foxton
Station, being Part of Foxton-New Plymouth Railway.

WHEREAS in pursuance of the power and authority
contained in Part II. of “The Public Works Act,
1882,” it is desired to take or acquire land hereinafter
described or referred to, the same being required for the use,
convenience, or enjoyment of certain public works which
have already been executed, namely, part of the Foxton-
New Plymouth Railway: And whereas the plan of such
land has been prepared, and has been deposited at the Station-
master’s office at Foxton:
Notice is therefore hereby given that the said plan is now
open to inspection by all persons, at all reasonable hours, at
the Public Works Office aforesaid, and that the general
description of the land so required to be taken is as follows:—
All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Township of
Foxton, Mount Robinson Survey District, Provincial District
of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 45 acres 2 roods
12 perches, more or less, being portions of Sections Nos. 477
and 410, in the Township of Foxton. Bounded on the East
for a distance of 9053 links by the public road forming the
eastern boundaries of said Sections Nos. 477 and 410; Northerly by the northern boundary of Section No. 447, 522
links; Westerly by a line of 9177 links distant 500 links from
and parallel to the eastern boundary of Sections Nos. 477
and 410; Southerly, 501 links, by the southern boundary of
Section No. 410: as the same is more particularly delineated
on the plan marked P.W.D. 11054, deposited in the office of
the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
And notice is hereby further given to all persons affected
by the taking of the said land to set forth in writing any
well-grounded objections they may have to the taking thereof,
and such persons are required to send such objections in
writing to me, the undersigned, at Wellington, within forty
days from the date hereof.
Dated at Wellington, this tenth day of April, 1884.

Notice under “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act,
1883.”

WHEREAS the estate and interest of Ani Ripihi and
Akuhata Ripihi, half-caste natives of New Zealand,
in the land described in the Schedule hereto, is vested in
George Lipsey and Ema Lipsey, as Trustees under the provisions of “The Maori Real Estate Management Act, 1867,”
and the several amendments thereof, subject to certain
restrictions on the alienation of such land, and application
has been made for the removal of such restrictions:
It is hereby notified that it is intended, immediately after
the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this
notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said
restrictions on the alienation of the said land in respect of
the interests aforesaid, in order that the said lands may be
sold by the said Trustees.
Dated at Wellington, this fifth day of March, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land situated in the Te Aroha Survey District, containing 2 roods, more or less, being part of Section
No. 17 of Block IX. on the map of Te Aroha Survey District,
and part of the land described in Vol. xxiv., folio 166, of the
Register-book, which said piece of land intended to be conveyed is part of Block IX. on the map of the Te Aroha Gold
Field Town; and is bounded towards the North-east by Lower
Street, 150 links; towards the South-east by Bridge Street,
333·2 links; towards the South-west by Church Street, 150
links; and towards the North-west by other part of said
Block IX. on said map, 333·2 links.

and Te Amo te Kehu, aboriginal natives of New
Zealand, in the land described in the Schedule hereto, is
vested in Rihari Uru te Angina and Aromona te Whio, as
Trustees under the provisions of “The Maori Real Estate
Management Act, 1867,” and the several amendments thereof,
subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such land,
and application has been made for the removal of such
restrictions:
It is hereby notified that it is intended, immediately after
the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this
notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said
restrictions on the alienation of the said land in respect of
the interests aforesaid, in order that the said lands may be
leased by the said Trustees for a term of twenty-one years.
Dated at Wellington, this fifth day of March, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land containing by admeasurement 91
acres and 16 perches, more or less, situate at Waitotara, in
the Provincial District of Wellington, on the left bank of
the Waitotara River, and being part of the block of land
known as the Kaipo Native Reserve, and being part of the
Section numbered 80 on the plan of the Waitotara District.
