SCHEDULE A.—(CLAUSE 4.)
Christchurch, 5th February, 1884.
To the Chief Commissioner of Lands at Christchurch.
I HEREBY apply for a Gold-Mining Lease of the lands hereinafter described, in accordance with the Gold-Mining Leases Regulations of New Zealand, and I agree, upon the approval of this application, to execute a lease upon the basis therein stated, if the Governor shall think fit to grant the same. Signature of applicant: JOHN HOSSACK. Name and address in full of applicant: John Hossack, Rangiora. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: Hossack and Company. Extent of land applied for: 16¾ acres. Minimum number of men to be employed by the lessee: (1) For the first six months, two men; (2) subsequently, when in full work, six men. Amount of capital proposed to be invested: £10,000. Proposed mode of working the land: Tunnels and shafts. Precise locality: North of Moa Creek Gold Mining and Prospecting Company’s lease. Term for which lease is required; Fifteen years. Time of commencing operations: Immediately on granting lease. The above application and any objection thereto will be heard at the Warden’s Office at Christchurch, on Thursday, the 28th February, 1884. Any person desiring to object to the issue of a mining lease upon the above application must, within twenty-one clear days from the date of such application, enter his objection at the Warden’s Office at Christchurch.—JOHN H. NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership which has for some time past been carried on by FELIX MCGUIRE AND MICHAEL BOURKE, under the firm of “Bourke and Co.,” at Hawera, in the Provincial District of Taranaki, in the trade or business of Brewers, was this day dissolved by mutual consent. The business lately carried on by the above-named firm will be continued by Michael Bourke, to whom all accounts due to the late firm must be paid, and by whom all accounts owing by the late firm will be paid.

In the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of the Mercer Road Board.
THIS is to notify that the said Board proposes to take for a public road all that parcel of land situated in the Mercer Road District, in New Zealand, containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 24 perches, more or less, and being portion of Allotment 59 of the Parish of Koheroa, in the County of Eden.
The work proposed to be executed is the making of a road to be substituted for the road lately stopped by the Board, and contiguous to Allotments 56, 57, 59, and a Government reserve, and the land so to be taken is required therefor.
Plans showing the road closed as aforesaid, and the road proposed to be substituted therefor, and the lands to be taken, with the names of the owners and occupiers of such lands as far as can be ascertained, lie open for inspection at the store of M. and S. Hunter, storekeepers, within the said Mercer Road District; and all persons affected by the execution of such works or the taking of such lands are hereby required to send their objections thereto, if any, in writing to the said Board within forty days from the first publication hereof.
