All that piece of land situated in the Parish of Waiotahi, Opotiki Survey District, containing 20 acres, more or less, being Allotment No. 346 of the said parish, and being the whole of the land included and described in certificate of title, Vol. xviii., folio 190, of the Register-book.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Dunedin, this eighteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zealand, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such land, and application has been made for the removal of such restrictions:

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excellency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the alienation of the said land.

to be Trustee, in the place of the Reverend James Preston, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Geraldine Cemetery.

Fixing Shooting Season for Native and Imported Game, License Fee, &c., Auckland District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that pheasants and Californian and Australian quail may be taken or killed within the Auckland District, consisting of the Auckland Provincial District, excepting the Counties of Cook, Whakatane, Tauranga, East Taupo, and Wairoa, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Act mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of thirty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Auckland is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (except tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, both inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.
