Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges in force on
the New Zealand Railways.

IN accordance with section 144 of “The Public Works Act,
1882,” I, Edwin Mitchelson, the Minister for Public
Works, do hereby make the following additions to the scale
of charges for the purpose specified below, such additions to
come into force on and after the 10th day of March, 1884:—

PART I.—PASSENGERS.

LOCAL FARES AND REGULATIONS.

Kawakawa Section.

Passengers, per mile, 1st class 3d.
Passengers, per mile, 2nd class 2½d.
Single tickets only will be issued.

PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.

KAWAKAWA SECTION.

Goods of Classes A, B, C, D, E, and H will be charged as
Class A, weight or measurement, as the department may
direct.

Native coals, Class P, from the Kawakawa Coal Mine to
port for shipment, will be charged 2s. 6d. per ton, including
discharging into ships.

Goods of Classes F, L, M, and N, 15s. per truck.
Goods of Class K, 9d. per 100 superficial feet.

PART VI.—WHARVES.

KAWAKAWA SECTION.

Opau Wharf Station Rates.

Goods conveyed to or from Opau Wharf or Station to inland
stations by rail—Free.

On goods loaded from or into ships but not conveyed to or
from the Opau Wharf or Station to inland stations by rail-
way the following rates shall be paid by the owners, masters,
or agents of ships or vessels:—

On all goods not otherwise specified, by weight or
measurement, as the department may direct, per

Cattle and horses, per head 2 6
Sheep, pigs, and goats 0 6
Wool, per bale 0 6
Timber, per 100 superficial feet 0 3
Classes L, N, and P, per ton 0 6
Minimum charge 0 6

Charge for Use of Wharf.

On every vessel lying within the limits of the railway,
per day or part thereof, per ton gross register up to
150 tons 0 0½
For each ton above 150 tons 0 0¼
Minimum charge per day 2 6

Notification that certain Lands have been acquired by Her
Majesty.

IT is hereby notified that Her Majesty the Queen has
acquired an estate in fee-simple in the whole of the
lands described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

TE TOTARA.

ALL that parcel of land in the District of Whangarei, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name of Te
Totara, containing by admeasurement 36 acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the North by the Mangapai Estuary;
towards the East by Te Totara Creek; towards the South-
west by Allotment No. 54 of the Parish of Mangapai, 1676
links; and towards the West by a road-line, 2030 links.

KOUTU MONGERO.

All that parcel of land in the District of Hokianga, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name of Koutu
Mongero, containing by admeasurement 215 acres, more or
less. Bounded on the East by other part of said Koutu
Mongero Block, 1267 links; on the North by other part of
said block, 1254 links; on the North-east by the Pakanae
No. 1 Block, 3006 links; on the South-east by the Pakanae
No. 1 Block, 3410 links; on the South and South-west by
the Hokianga River; on the North-east, South, and South-
west by the Te Waipuna Block, 1498 links; and on the North
by the Hokianga River.

TE KOMATA NORTH, No. 2268.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, containing by admeasurement 864 acres, more or less,
situated in the Waihou and Ohinemuri Survey Districts, in
Blocks XII. and IX. respectively, and known by the name of
To Komata North. Bounded towards the North by a line,
15985 links; towards the East by a line, 1877 links; towards
the North-east and South by Te Komata Stream; and
towards the West by the Waihou River: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on Plan No.
3288, deposited in the Survey Office at Auckland.

ALLOTMENT No. 85, PARISH OF WHAINGAROA.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land known as Allotment No. 85 of the Parish of Whai-
garoa, containing by admeasurement 42 acres, more or less.
Bounded towards the North by Allotment No. 68, 210 links;
towards the North-east by Allotment No. 68 aforesaid, 2037
links; towards the South-east by a road, 2116 links and 560
links; and towards the West by a road in a curve.

WHAREHANGA A.

All that parcel of land in the District of Wairarapa, in the
Provincial District of Wellington, known by the name of
Wharchanga A, containing by admeasurement 194 acres and
1 perch, more or less. Bounded towards the North-west by
the Wharehanga B Block, 3300 links; towards the North
by a lagoon and by lines, 1047 links; and on all other sides
by the Ruamahanga River.

Colonial Industries.—Portland Cement.

Public Works Office,
Wellington, 28th November, 1883.

WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at this office up
to noon on 31st March, 1884, from persons who are
willing to contract for the supply and delivery of one hundred
tons of Portland Cement. The cement to be manufactured
in the Colony of New Zealand, and to be delivered at any of
the under-mentioned places, viz., Auckland, Wellington,
Christchurch, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Port Chalmers, or Inver-
cargill. Tenders to be addressed to the Minister for Public
Works, and to be marked outside “Tender for Supply of 100
tons of Portland Cement.” Specifications and conditions
may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Auckland, Welling-
ton, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill. The lowest or
any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
