It is further notified that, under the above-named authority, His Excellency the Governor has this day declared the
Sheep Districts of Napier, Rangitikei, Canterbury, and Otago,
as defined in the Proclamations of the 24th December, 1878,
23rd September, 1879, 26th January, 1880, 2nd November,
1880, 19th March, 1883, 19th March, 1883, and 26th January,
1884, to be clean sheep districts; and the Sheep Districts of
Auckland, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Nelson,
and Marlborough, as defined in the same Proclamations, to
be infected sheep districts.

Colonial Industries.—Portland Cement.
Public Works Office,

WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at this office up
to noon on 31st March, 1884, from persons who are
willing to contract for the supply and delivery of one hundred
tons of Portland Cement. The cement to be manufactured
in the Colony of New Zealand, and to be delivered at any of
the under-mentioned places, viz., Auckland, Wellington,
Christchurch, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Port Chalmers, or Inver-
cargill. Tenders to be addressed to the Minister for Public
Works, and to be marked outside “Tender for Supply of 100
tons of Portland Cement.” Specifications and conditions
may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Auckland, Welling-
ton, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill. The lowest or
any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Notice to Mariners, No. 5 of 1884.

THE following Notice to Mariners, received from the
Department of Ports and Harbours, Melbourne, is
published for general information.

GEELONG LIGHTSHIP.
Pilots, masters of vessels, and others are hereby informed
that on the 18th February, 1884, the lightship, now moored
opposite the Bird Rock on the port side of the channel
leading into Geelong, will be removed for the purpose of
undergoing repairs, and that a temporary lightship will be
substituted therefor until further notice.
The temporary light will be of the same character as here-
tofore, but will be elevated 17 feet in lieu of 27 feet above
the sea-level, and may be seen in clear weather from the
deck of a vessel about six miles distant.

Approving and appointing Bonding Warehouses.
CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this
purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation
Act, 1882,” I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do
hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned warehouses
to be warehouses for the reception of goods under bond,
namely:—
Port of Invercargill.
The cellar and a portion of the ground and first floors of
a brick building roofed with iron, situate in Esk Street, on
Allotments D and E of Section 12, Block I., to be known as
McPHERSON'S BOND.
Port of Christchurch.
A concrete and brick building roofed with slate, consisting
of a cellar and two floors, situate in Worcester Street, on
Lots 8 and 9, Section 718, to be known as
THE VICTORIA BOND.
Port of Thames.
A portion of the ground floor of a wooden building roofed
with iron, situate in Pollen Street, on Allotment 143, to be
known as
EHRENFRIED'S BOND.
Port of Dunedin.
Part of the basement of a stone and brick building roofed
with slate, situate on Section No. 21, Subdivision No. 1,
Crawford Street Block of Otago Harbour Board endowments,
to be known as
THE UNION BOND.

o'clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the said applica-
tion and all objections thereto; and I require all persons hav-
ing an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to
leave, on or before the 11th day of June next, at this office,
particulars in writing of their objections to the said applica-
tion, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.
