northern boundary of Section No. 2 of Block I., District of Awatere; thence along that boundary to Maxwell Pass Stream; thence by the Maxwell Pass Stream to the watershed; thence by a tributary of the Taylor River to the Taylor River at the base of a hill called the “Maori”; thence by the northern boundaries of the Dungree and Blairich Runs to the summit of the dividing range between the Awatere and Wairau Valleys to Langridge Run No. 2; thence by the western boundary of that run to the summit of the range; thence by the said summit to Saxon’s Pass; thence by the stream running out of Saxon’s Pass to the Acheron River; thence by that river to the junction of the Saxon; thence by the Saxon for a distance of 210 chains; thence by a line due east and west to intersect a right line drawn from Tophouse to Barefell Pass; thence by part of said line to Barefell Pass; thence by the Guide River to its confluence with the Acheron River; thence by that river to its confluence with the Clarence River; thence towards the South by a right line to a point on the Clarence River where a right line drawn from the junction of the Acheron and Clarence Rivers to the source of the River Conway intersects it; thence towards the South-east by the Kaikoura Subdivision, hereinbefore described, to the mouth of the Kekerangu River, the starting point.
The Blenheim Subdivision.
Bounded towards the East by the sea from the mouth of the Awatere River to the north-east corner of Native Reserve at White’s Bay; towards the North by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 37, Picton Suburban; thence by the northern boundary of that section produced to the Tuamarina River; thence by the northern boundary of the Raydale Run to the north-western corner of that run; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Section No. 9, Okaramio Valley; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 72, Havelock Suburban; thence by a right line to the south-west corner of Section No. 85, Havelock Suburban; thence by the watershed between the Atuhaau Stream and the Kaituna River to the watershed between the Wairau and Pelorus Valleys, and by that watershed to the watershed between the Wairau River and Blind Bay; towards the North-west by that watershed over Mount Rintoul to Ward’s Pass; thence along the northern and western boundaries of Sections Nos. 7, 4, and 3, Wiesenhavern’s Run, known as the Red Hills Reserve, to the Wairau River; thence northerly along the right bank of that river to a point in line with Tophouse and Barefell Pass; towards the West by a right line from thence to the Awatere Subdivision hereinbefore described; and towards the South by the said Awatere Subdivision to the mouth of the Awatere River, the starting point.
The Picton Subdivision.
Bounded generally towards the West, North-east, and South-east by the sea from the head of Croiselles Harbour to White’s Bay at the north-east corner of the Native Reserve; towards the South-east generally by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 37, Picton Suburban; thence by the northern boundary of that section produced to the Tuamarina River; thence by the northern boundary of the Raydale Run to the north-western corner of that run; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Section No. 9, Okaramio Valley; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 72, Havelock Suburban; thence by a right line to the south-west corner of Section No. 85, Havelock Suburban; thence by the summit of the watershed between the Atuhaau Stream and the Kaituna River to the watershed between the Wairau and Pelorus Valleys, and by the summit of that watershed to the watershed between the Wairau River and Blind Bay; thence generally towards the north-west by the Nelson Sheep District, before described, to the head of Croiselles Harbour, the starting point: including D’Urville Island, Arapawa Island, and Forsyth and Chetwode Islands.
The Amuri Subdivision.
Bounded towards the East by the Blenheim, Awatere, and Kaikoura Subdivisions, hereinbefore described, from the Wairau River to the mouth of the River Conway; thence by the sea to the mouth of the Waiau-ua or Dillon River; towards the South by the right bank of that river; towards the West again by the right bank of the said river to its confluence with the Henry River; thence by that river to its source at Travers Peak; and towards the North-west by the summit of the Spencer Range to Mount Franklyn; thence by the summit of St. Arnaud Range to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section No. 3, Wiesenhavern Run; thence to and by said section and Wairau River to the starting point.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district the boundaries whereof are specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby incorporated into the Borough of Thames, and shall constitute a separate ward of the said borough, to be called the Parawai Ward; and that the boundaries of the said borough shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND PROPOSED TO BE ADDED TO THE BOROUGH OF THAMES.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards the North-east by a line along the middle of Rolleston Street produced from the middle of Hape Creek to the middle of Grey Street, Shortland; thence towards the South-east by a line along the middle of the said Grey Street to the middle of the said Hape Creek; and thence towards the North-west generally by a line along the middle of that creek to the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF THAMES.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards the North by a right line commencing at a point 11681¾ links distant from Trig. Station F, Thames Survey District, on a bearing of 282° 36′ 31″ (true), and proceeding due east (true) to Rocky Point, 80 chains; thence by a right line bearing 126° 52′ (true), 4250 links, to Trig. Station F aforesaid; thence towards the North-east generally by a right line to Trig. Station No. 5, Kuranui Hill; thence by a right line to Trig. Station No. 1, Waiotahi Spur; thence by a right line to the middle of Karaka Road opposite to the middle of Sandes Street; thence by a line along the middle of the said Karaka Road to the middle of Rolleston Street; thence by a line along the middle of the said Rolleston Street to Hape Creek; thence by the last-mentioned line produced to the middle of Grey Street, Shortland; thence by a line along the middle of the said Grey Street to the middle of Hape Creek aforesaid; thence by a line along the middle of that creek to its confluence with the Kauaeranga River; thence towards the South by a right line due west (true), 80 chains; and thence towards the South-west by a right line to the place of commencement.
