Sheep Districts of Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Nelson, and Marlborough amended, and Wanganui and Rangitikei constituted.—Notice No. 152.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS under and by virtue of the powers conferred by the eighth section of “The Sheep Act, 1878,” certain districts and subdivisions of districts were constituted and proclaimed, as appears by several Proclamations bearing date respectively the twenty-fourth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, the twentieth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, and the twenty-third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine: And whereas among such districts were the Auckland, the Napier, the Wellington, the Nelson, and the Marlborough Sheep Districts, together with the subdivisions thereof respectively, as the same are named and described in the said Proclamations: And whereas it is expedient that the said districts and the subdivisions thereof should be altered in the manner hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the eighth section of “The Sheep Act, 1878,” do hereby constitute anew the Auckland, the Napier, the Nelson, and the Marlborough Sheep Districts, and the subdivisions thereof respectively, and do also alter the boundaries of the Wellington District as existing immediately before the date of this Proclamation, and hereby constitute new districts to be called respectively the Wanganui, the Rangitikei, and the Wellington Districts, and do part the same into subdivisions as set forth in the Schedule hereto; and I do hereby declare that, for the purposes of the said Act, the said several districts and the respective subdivisions thereof shall hereafter be as the same are described in the Schedule hereto, including in such districts or subdivisions all boroughs within the territorial area comprised within the external boundaries of any such district or subdivision as defined in the said Schedule, although such boroughs do not actually form part of any county therein mentioned, and that such districts and subdivisions shall be known by the names set over each such district and subdivision respectively in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND SHEEP DISTRICT.

Comprising all that part of the colony included in the Counties of Mongonui, Hokianga, Bay of Islands, Whangarei, Hobson, Rodney, Waitemata, Manukau, Eden, Thames,

Coromandel, Waikato, Raglan, Waipa, Piako, West Taupo, Kawhia, Whakatane, Tauranga, and so much of the County of East Taupo as lies to the north of Taupo Moana and the main road from Tapuaeharuru to Napier, as such counties are at the date of this Proclamation respectively bounded and described; together with all adjacent islands.

The Bay of Islands Subdivision.

Comprising the hereinbefore-mentioned Counties of Mongonui, Hokianga, and Bay of Islands; together with all adjacent islands in and north of the Bay of Islands.

The Marsden Subdivision.

Comprising the hereinbefore-mentioned Counties of Whangarei, Hobson, and Rodney; together with the Islands of Taranga (Hen and Chickens), Great Barrier, Little Barrier, Kawau, Moturake, and Motuhora, and islands adjacent thereto.

The Auckland Subdivision.

Comprising the hereinbefore-mentioned Counties of Waitemata, Manukau, Eden, Thames, and Coromandel; together with the Islands of Tiritiri, Rakino, Motutapu, Motuihe, Waiheke, Ponui, Pahiki, McIntosh, Beeson, Cuvier, Mercury, and Slipper, and islands adjacent thereto.

The Waikato Subdivision.

Comprising the hereinbefore-mentioned Counties of Waikato, Raglan, Waipa, and Piako.

The Bay of Plenty Subdivision.

Comprising the hereinbefore-mentioned Counties of Whakatane, Tauranga, and so much of the County of East Taupo as lies to the north of Taupo Moana and the main road from Tapuaeharuru to Napier; together with the Islands of Matakana and Motiti, and islands adjacent thereto.

The Taupo Subdivision.

Comprising the hereinbefore-mentioned Counties of West Taupo and Kawhia.

NAPIER SHEEP DISTRICT.

Comprising all that part of the colony included in the Counties of Cook, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, and Waipawa, and the portions of East Taupo and Wanganui Counties comprised within the following boundaries: Bounded towards the North-east by the main road from Tapuaeharuru to Napier from the said Tapuaeharuru to the County of Hawke’s Bay; thence towards the East and North and again towards the East by that county to Trig. Station No. 32; thence towards the South by a right line due west to the Mangawhero Stream; towards the West by that stream to its source, and by a right line thence to
