The Onamalutu Run No. 2, situate in the Onamalutu
Survey District; approximate area, 210 acres; upset annual
rent, £1; term of license, ten years.

There must be paid, at auction, rent, at the rate of the
highest price bid, from date of auction to the 1st March,
1885, and £3 for the license.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has
been pleased to pronounce the under-mentioned gold-
mining leases cancelled, and that the ground is now open for
application as if no lease of the said ground had ever been
applied for:—

Thomas Forgie; 6 acres, Section 1, Block VIII., Kyeburn

Mining Notices.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.

Waiau, 9th December, 1884.

To the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin.

I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water-
race to divert and use water for mining purposes, com-
mencing at a point about 1 chain above the second conflu-
ence of Diggers Creek, and terminating about 50 chains
below.

The length of such race is about 50 or 60 chains or there-
abouts, and its intended course is about north-east.

The mean depth of such race is 2 feet, and the mean
breadth is 2 feet, and it is proposed to divert two Govern-
ment-heads of water.

Any person objecting to the granting of this application
must lodge his objection in writing at the Commissioner of
Crown Lands Office, Dunedin, within thirty clear days from
the date hereof.

To the Mining Registrar at Cromwell of the Otago Gold
Fields Mining District, and all other persons whom it may
concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-
race and divert water for the purpose of driving
machinery, commencing at a point on the north side of
Adams's Gully, Bannockburn, about 400 yards above the
western boundary of my coal lease, being Section 1, Block I.,
Bannockburn District, and terminating at the mouth of the
tunnel by which the said coal lease is now worked.

Length of race, 600 yards; mean breadth, 2 feet; depth,
1 foot. Water proposed to be diverted: One Government-
head. Time required for construction: Already constructed.
Term for which license required: Fifteen years.

Dated at Cromwell, this 8th day of December, 1884.
