Appointment of Returning Officers and Arrangements for Elections, County of Horowhenua.

Wellington, 16th December, 1884.
HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint
HENRY FRANCIS EAGER
to be the person to prepare new electors’ rolls for the County of Horowhenua, as constituted by a Proclamation dated the 16th day of December, 1884; also to appoint
WILLIAM GORDON ROBINSON
to be the Returning Officer to conduct the first elections of Councillors for the Wirokino Riding;
HENRY FRANCIS EAGER
to be the Returning Officer to conduct the said first elections for the Otaki Riding; and
HENRY ANTHONY KNOCKS
to be the Returning Officer to conduct the said first elections for the Te Horo Riding of the said county.
Also to appoint Tuesday, the 20th day of January, 1885, to be the day for holding the said elections; also to appoint Saturday, the 24th day of January, 1885, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, at the Road Board Office, Otaki, to be the time and place for holding the first meeting of the Councillors of the said County of Horowhenua.

SPECIAL ORDERS.
THE following special orders were made at an ordinary meeting of the Waitemata County Council, held on the 5th December, 1884:—
-
That the Outlying District of Ararimu be constituted a road district under “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” to be called the Ararimu Road District, the same to be divided into two subdivisions by the Kaipara Railway, to be called respectively the Ararimu and Taupaki Subdivisions. That the Board of the said district consist of eight members; four to be returned by each subdivision.

That the Board of the Manukau Road District and the Board of the Titirangi Road District be dissolved, and that provisions be made for the election of a Board of six members for the newly-constituted Manukau and Titirangi Road District, being three for each subdivision.

SPECIAL ORDER.
RESOLUTION passed by the Thames County Council, on the 8th day of October, 1884:—
That, in conformity with the prayer of the petition of ratepayers in the Parawai Road District, presented to the Council on the 7th day of July, 1884, the Council do now, by special order, declare that, on and after the 1st day of November next ensuing, the Road Board of the said Parawai Road District shall be dissolved, and such road district merged in the County of Thames.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made.

IN pursuance of the provisions of subsection 9 of section 3 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” I hereby define the boundaries of the Half-Way Bush Road District, in the County of Taieri, which was in existence on the coming into operation of the said Act, as follows:—
All that area in the Provincial District of Otago, bounded towards the North by Block X., Silverpeak Survey District, and Block III., North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; towards the South-east generally by the Borough of Maori Hill; towards the South generally by the Borough of Roslyn and the Kaikorai Road District; and towards the South-west and North-west by the North Taieri Road District.
