Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section one hundred and forty-four of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of a portion of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto, the area of which is described in the second column of the said Schedule, to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the third column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve. Portion of which the Purpose is intended to be changed. Intended Purpose.
Custom-house Reserve, in the Town of Invercargill, containing 2 acres 2 roods, more or less. All that parcel of land in the Town of Invercargill, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, being part of Custom-house Reserve. Bounded towards the North by Forth Street, 250 links; towards the East by Clyde Street, 100 links; towards the South by a right line at right angles with Clyde Street, 250 links; towards the West by a right line parallel to Clyde Street, 100 links: as the same is delineated on the plan in the Survey Office, Invercargill. For a site for offices for the County Council of Southland.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Notice of taking Land at Grahamstown under Sections 143, 144, and 145 of "The Harbours Act, 1878."

BY virtue and in pursuance of the power and authorities vested in me by the one hundred and forty-third, one hundred and forty-fourth, and one hundred and forty-fifth sections of "The Harbours Act, 1878," I, Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, give notice to the Thames Harbour Board that, one month from the day of the date hereof, I shall enter upon and take possession of the land particularly described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 11 perches, being a parcel of land at Grahamstown vested in the Thames Harbour Board, Provincial District of Auckland; commencing at a point on the western boundary-line of Beach Road at its intersection with the prolongation of the southern boundary-line of Burke Street. Bounded—Northerly by a line being the continuation of the prolongation of the southern boundary of Burke Street aforesaid, 146·9 links; South-westerly by a line, 179·3 links; Easterly by Burke Street to commencing point, 95·4 links: as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked M.D. 980, deposited in the Marine Department, Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

Trustees appointed for the Maintenance of the Pahi Public Cemetery.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries Act, 1882," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

Bounded towards the North and North-east by a road, 1013 links; towards the South-east by Lots Nos. 20 and 19, 1142 links; and towards the West by Lot No. 17, 953 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. |

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the forty-fifth section of "The Cemeteries Act, 1882," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the local authority specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.
