Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this twenty-third day of November, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land situate in the Oakura District, in the
County of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement eight
acres and five perches, more or less, and being the Allotment
numbered eleven on the map of the Ahuahu Town Belt.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auck-
land, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, and West-
land.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section
of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been sur-
veyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding
that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which, in his opinion, are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in
the Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson,
Canterbury, Otago, and Westland, described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule
specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less,
being known as Lot No. 341 of the Parish of Whangamarino,
situate in the Piako Survey District. Bounded towards the
North-east by a road-line, 824 links; towards the South-east
by Lot No. 94 of the parish aforesaid, 718 links; towards the
South-west by Lot No. 95, 803 links; and towards the North-
west by Lot No. 172, 527 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For a cemetery.

HAWKE’S BAY.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s
Bay, containing by admeasurement 40 acres, more or less,
being the Suburban Section No. 12 on the map of Danevirk.
Bounded towards the North, East, and South-east by the
Mangatera River; towards the South-west by Section No. 11,
3600 links; towards the North-west by the main road from
Woodville to Napier, 116 links and 302 links; and towards
the North-east by Christian Street to the south-west boun-
dary of Section No. 13, and by Section No. 13 to the Manga-
tera River. For a recreation-ground.

Also all that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or
less, being Section No. 4 of Block II. on the map of the
Village of Danevirk. Bounded towards the North by Section
No. 3, 250 links; towards the East by Section No. 7, 100
links; towards the South by Section No. 5, 250 links; and
towards the West by the main road from Woodville to
Napier, 100 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
As a site for a mechanics’ institute.

NELSON.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 500 acres and 10 perches, be the same more or less,
situated in the Land District of Nelson, being Section No.
23, Block I., and Section No. 19, Block II., on the plan of
the Ahaura Survey District. Bounded as follows: On the
Northward, 16077 links, by a public road; on the Eastward,
8126 links, by a public road; on the Southward, 16115 links,
by a public road; and on the Westward, 3108 links, by Section
No. 121. For a reserve for resting-place for travelling stock.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 29
perches, more or less, situate in the Township of South
Rangitata, Geraldine Survey District. Bounded towards the
North-west by a road-line, 1426·2 links; towards the North-
east by a line bearing 137° 10′, 246·3 links; towards the
South-east by the railway reserve, 1475·1 links; and towards
the South-west by Section No. 2, Block VI., in the said town-
ship, 301·6 links: and numbered 2624 (in red); as the same
is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey
Office, Christchurch. For railway purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less,
situate in the Geraldine Township, in the Geraldine Survey
District. Bounded towards the North by Wright Street,
400 links; towards the East by Cox Street, 1000 links;
towards the South by the South Town Belt, 400 links; and
towards the West by Wilson Street, 1000 links: and numbered
2625 (in red); as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For a school
site.

OTAGO.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, situate
in the Mount Hyde District, and being Section No. 43 of
Block IV. of said district. Bounded towards the North by
Section No. 23 of same block and a road-line, 1000 links;
towards the East by said Section No. 23, 1000 links; towards
the South by said Section No. 23, 1000 links; and towards
the West by said Section No. 23 and village reserve, 1000
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a
cemetery.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 52 acres and 30 perches, more
or less (allowing deductions for water-races), situate in the
Lauder District, and being Section No. 56 of Block III. of
said district. Bounded towards the North by Crown lands,
10890 links; towards the East by a road-line, 500 links;
towards the South by Sections Nos. 48, 47, and 46 respec-
tively of same block, 10890 links; towards the West by a
road-line, 500 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less; and intersected by a tail-race reserve 300 links wide,
also at present by three water-races. For a forest reserve.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 67 acres 3 roods 29
perches, more or less (allowing deductions for water-races),
situate in the Lauder District, and being Section No. 19 of
Block IV. of said district. Bounded towards the North by
Crown lands, 14448 links; towards the South-east by Section
No. 5 of same block, 960 links; towards the South by Sections
Nos. 9, 8, 7, and 6 respectively of same block, 13626 links;
and towards the West by a road-line, 500 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less; and at present intersected
by five water-races. For a forest reserve.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 90 acres 1 rood 28
perches, more or less, situate in the Lauder District, and
being Section No. 15 of Block V. of said district. Bounded
towards the North by Crown lands, 18238 links; towards the
East by a road-line, 500 links; towards the South by Sections
Nos. 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 respectively of same block, 17998
links; and towards the South-west by a tail-race reserve,
600 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a
forest reserve.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 44 acres 2 roods 30 perches,
more or less, situate in the Blackstone District, and being
Section No. 52 of Block II. of said district. Bounded towards
the North by Crown lands, 8920 links; towards the North-
east by a road-line, 501 links; towards the South by Sections
Nos. 51 and 50 respectively of same block, 8956·8 links; and
towards the West by a road-line, 500 links: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. For a forest reserve.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, situate
in the Cairn Hill District, and being Sections Nos. 60 and 62
respectively of Block I. of said district. Bounded towards the
North-east by Section No. 63 of same block, 959 links;
towards the South-east by a road-line, 1092·5 links; towards
the South-west by a road-line, 954·5 links; and towards
the North-west by Section No. 27 of same block, 1103 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school site.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 200 acres, more or less, situate
in the Lauder District, and being Section No. 2 of Block III.
of said district. Bounded towards the North by Section No.
3 of same block, 3845 links; towards the East by Section
No. 7 of same block, 4901 links; towards the South by a
road-line, 3845 links; and towards the West by a road-line,
