The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Parish of Hautapu, Cambridge Survey District, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known as the Cambridge East Town Belt, and comprising all the land lying between the granted boundaries of Rural Sections 161, 1, 18, 184, 195, 196, 209, 210, 215, 216, 230, and 235, Parish of Hautapu, and the sections comprised in the Town of Cambridge East proper; containing 426 acres, more or less: as the same is delineated in the official map in the Survey Office, Auckland.
Al that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 41 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Lot 576 of the Town of Cambridge East, Parish of Hautapu, Cambridge Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland. Bounded towards the North by Thornton Road, 3793 links; towards the East by Albert Street, 977 links; towards the South by Whitaker Terrace, 3448 links; and towards the West by Victoria Street, 762 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 347 acres, more or less, being called or known as the Town Belt of Cambridge West, in the Parish of Pukekura, Cambridge Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland. Bounded towards the North by the Waikato River, 2080 links; thence generally Easterly by Rural Lots 120, 121, 122, 124, 125, 126, and 151, Parish of Pukekura, 12787 links; thence generally Southerly by Rural Lots 151, 170, 169, 168, 167, 166, 165, Parish of Pukekura aforesaid, 9204 links; thence generally Westerly by Rural Lots 20, 24, 21, 21A, and 20B of the aforesaid parish, 12524 links; thence again Northerly by the Waikato River, 2300 links; thence again generally Easterly by Town Lots 571, 579, 567, 436, 180, 181, 182, 183, 184, 185, 186, 187, 188, 189, 190, and 191, by Shelby Street, again by Town Lots 562, 561, 560, 559, thence by Thompson Street and Shelby Street, 11345 links; thence again Northerly by Lamb Street, 7105 links; thence again generally Westerly by Carlyle Street, Wordsworth Street, and Town Lots 115, 116, and a stream, to the point of commencement, 8020 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Authorizing Sale of Reserve in Canterbury.

WHEREAS by “The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1882,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may authorize the sale of the lands described in clause thirty-two of the Schedule thereto:
And whereas, by a notification bearing date the ninth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, the upset price of the land described in the Schedule hereto was fixed at three pounds per acre:
And whereas the said land was submitted for sale by public auction on the twelfth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, but was not sold:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to reduce the upset price of the said land:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby authorize and direct that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be offered at public auction at two pounds per acre, and that all the provisions of the Land Acts relating to sales of land by public auction shall apply to the said land.

RESERVE No. 1639 (in red), Kowai Domain, containing 344 acres.

Conditions for Trout-fishing in County of Grey.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand doth hereby make the following regulations for the County of Grey:—

Any holder of a license as hereinafter mentioned may fish with rod and line for trout in each river or stream in the County of Grey from the first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, to the thirty-first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, both inclusive, but only between the hours of five o’clock in the morning and ten o’clock in the evening.

Licenses to fish with rod and line in the said waters will be issued under the hand of the Secretary of the Grey District Acclimatisation Society, at Greymouth, and for every license a fee of twenty shillings will be charged.

No license shall authorize any person other than the person named therein to fish, and that only with rod and line.

Any person fishing without a license, or any person who shall, on demand of any person holding and showing a license, or on the demand of any ranger, police officer, or constable, fail to produce and show to such person, ranger, police officer, or constable his license, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty pounds.

All trout not exceeding seven inches in length, taken by any person fishing as aforesaid, shall be immediately returned alive into the water; and any person convicted of infringing this regulation shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty pounds sterling, and his license shall thereupon become void.

Except as aforesaid, no person shall fish or use any net or other engine, instrument, or device for taking fish in any lake, river, or stream within the above district; and all persons offending against this regulation shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding fifty pounds.

Any person who puts, throws, or places, or allows to be put, thrown, or placed, into any lake, river, or stream in the said district, any dynamite or other explosive substance, or any matter or liquid deleterious to fish, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred pounds.

These regulations shall come into force as from the date hereof.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the forty-fifth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the local authority specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.
