Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of Roads over Lands
in the Wellington Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule
hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands
specified under a warrant of the date given in the said
Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that road, 75 links wide, the centre of which com-
mences at the point marked C, on the northern boundary of
the Te Puru Block; and proceeding generally in a south-
westerly direction to the point marked D, on the south-
western boundary of the said block.
All that road, 50 links wide, the centre of which commences
at the point marked E, in the Te Puru Block; and proceeding
generally in a westerly direction through the said block to a
point marked F, on the Turakina River.
All that road, 75 links wide, the centre of which commences
at the point marked G, on the northern boundary of the
Ruahihi Block; and proceeding generally in a southerly direc-
tion through the said block, and through the Tiniwaitara
Block, to a point marked I, on the Makirikiri Stream.
As the said roads are more particularly shown on the plan
marked 313-206, and deposited in the office of the Chief
Surveyor, Wellington.
Date of warrant, 31st May, 1882.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this thirtieth day of September, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
four.

Importation of all Apples and Pears infected with the
“Codlin Moth” prohibited.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the sixty-seventh section of “The Cus-
toms Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” it is, among
other things, enacted that the importation of arms, ammu-
nition, gunpowder, or any other goods may be prohibited by
Proclamation or Order in Council: And whereas it is
expedient that the importation of the goods hereinafter
mentioned should be prohibited:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the said power and authority, do order and
proclaim that the importation into New Zealand of the
goods hereinafter mentioned shall be and is hereby pro-
hibited, that is to say,—
Apples and pears in any way infected with the insect
Carpocapsa pomonella, commonly known as “the codlin
moth,” or in which the said insect is or has been present in
any form or stage of development, together with the boxes,
cases, barrels, or other receptacles in which apples and pears
so infected are or have been contained.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
