Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of Roads over Lands
in the Wellington Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule
hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands
specified in warrants of the dates given in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

BLOCK IX., KOPUARANGA SURVEY DISTRICT.

ALL that road, 100 links wide, the centre of which com-
mmences at the point marked A, on the south-eastern boundary
of Section No. 34, and which proceeds generally in a northerly
direction through that section and through Section No. 76 to
a point marked B, on the north-eastern boundary of the
last-mentioned section.

Date of warrant, 19th January, 1883.

Also all that other road the centre of which commences near
the last-mentioned point B, and which proceeds generally
in an easterly direction through Section No. 77 to a point
marked C, on the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 77.

Date of warrant, 30th April, 1883.

All that road, 100 links wide, the centre of which com-
mmences at the point marked D, on the north-eastern boundary
of Section No. 39, and which proceeds generally in a westerly
direction to the point marked E, near the Kopuaranga
River, in the said section.

Date of warrant, 19th January, 1883.

All that road, 100 links wide, the centre of which com-
mmences at the point marked G, near the Kopuaranga River,
in Section No. 35, and which proceeds generally in a north-
easterly direction to the point marked F, on the north-
eastern boundary of the said section.

Date of warrant, 19th January, 1883.

As the said roads are more particularly delineated on the
Plan marked S.O. 1084/98, and deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Welling-
ton, this thirtieth day of September, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-four.

1883.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule hereto
are vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zea-
land, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such
lands, and application has been made for the removal of such
restrictions :

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excel-
lency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty
days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and
in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the aliena-
tion of the said lands.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Welling-
ton, this twenty-fourth day of September, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-four.

ALL that piece of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, situated at Okaihau, in the District of Bay of Islands
and County of Hokianga, containing 30 acres, more or less,
and being part of a block of land called or known by the
name of “Umuhapuku,” numbered 648N. Bounded towards
the South-east by a road, 1997 links; towards the South-west
