Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, Nelson, Canterbury, and Southland.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Nelson, Canterbury, and Southland, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being known as Lot 5B of the Suburbs of Opotiki, situated in Block III., Opotiki Survey District. Bounded towards the North by a road 100 links wide, 515 links; towards the East by a road 50 links wide, 194·2 links; towards the South by Lot 5A, 515 links; and towards the West by Lot 4, 194·2 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a site for a pound.
All that area in the County of Hokianga, Provincial District of Auckland, being Section No. 247, Township of Herd’s Point, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 37 perches. Bounded towards the North-west by a right line bearing 70° 24′, 280 links; towards the South-east by Parnell Street, 368 links; towards the South-west by Sections Nos. 245 and 246, 285 links; and again towards the North-west by a right line bearing 25° 55′, 222 links. For a telegraph and post office site.
All that area in the County of Hokianga, Provincial District of Auckland, being Section No. 248, Township of Herd’s Point, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 19 perches. Bounded towards the North-east by a right line bearing 343° 2′, 416 links; towards the South-west by Section No. 241, 208 links; and towards the North-west by Parnell Street, 360 links. For a site for customhouse and Resident Magistrate’s Court.
NELSON.
All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres, be the same more or less, situated in the Land District of Nelson, being Section No. 13, Block VII., Mawheranui Survey District, and described as follows: Starting at a point bearing 64° 25′, and distant 686·4 links from Pipe xxvii.; thence by a line true north, 400 links; thence by a line true east, 500 links; thence by a line true south, 400 links; and thence by a line true west, 500 links, to point of commencement. For a cemetery.
CANTERBURY.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, situate in the Borough of Ashburton. Bounded towards the North-east by Dobson Street, 1000 links; towards the North-west by William Street, 1100 links; towards the South-east by the East Town Belt, 1100 links; and towards the South-west by the Terrace, 1000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; save and excepting thereout South Street, which runs through the above-described parcel of land; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch. For a plantation.
SOUTHLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 8 acres 2 roods 29 perches, more or less, being Section No. 82A on the map of the Wairio District. Bounded on the North by a public road, 1318·5 links; towards the East by a public road, 651 links; on the South by Section No. 68 of said district, 1352·4 links; and on the West by said Section No. 68, 650 links. For a school site.
All that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 15 acres, more or less, being Section No. 330 on the map of Taringatura District. Bounded on the North by a public road, 750 links; on the East by Section No. 337 of said district, 2000 links; on the South by Section No. 336 of said district, 750 links; and on the West by said Section No. 336, 2000 links. For a school site.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 12 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 2B and 6A, Block XII., Town of Campbelltown. Bounded towards the North-east by Barrow Street, 60 links; towards the South-east by Section No. 3 of said Block XII., 125 links; towards the South-west by Sections Nos. 6 and 1 of said Block XII., 60 links; and towards the North-west by Section No. 2A of said Block XII., 125 links. For a site for a drill-shed.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 1 rood 38·4 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 1, 2A, and 6, Block XII., Town of Campbelltown. Bounded towards the North-east by Barrow Street, 166 links; towards the South-east by Section No. 2B, 125 links; again towards the North-east by Sections Nos. 2B and 6A, 60 links; again towards the South-east by Section No. 3, 125 links; towards the South-west by Section No. 4, 226 links; and towards the North-west by Lee Street, 250 links. For police purposes.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
to be a Trustee, in the place of Alexander i&Lean, gazetted in error, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Waikaka Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor dated the second day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.
