Notice of Times and Places for Investigating Claims.
Native Land Court Office,
Auckland, 6th December, 1883.

WHEREAS His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand in exercise of the power and authority in that behalf vested in him, by the provisions of “The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1883,” did by writing under his hand dated the 25th day of September, 1883, declare that certain parcels of land therein mentioned should be thereafter deemed and taken to be lands held by the Native Owners according to native customs or usages, and that it should be a duty of the Native Land Court of New Zealand to investigate according and subject to its ordinary practice the titles to such lands, and to ascertain who may be the owners thereof according to native customs or usages:

And whereas the parcel of land situate in the district of Tarawera, known as Te Pokohu Block, and another parcel of land situate in the district of Tarawera, known as Matahina Block, are two of the parcels of land the subject of the declaration aforesaid:

Now notice is hereby given that at a sitting of the Native Land Court to be held at Whakatane, Bay of Plenty, on the 10th day of January, 1884, the said Court will proceed to investigate and determine the respective titles to the said two parcels of land.
