NATIVE LAND COURT ACT, 1880.
Notice of Times and Places for Investigating Claims.

NOTICE is hereby given that the claims, on behalf of themselves and others, of the several persons
whose names are mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereunder written, to the several
blocks of land of which the names and localities are mentioned in the second column, the boundaries of
which are published in the third column will be investigated at Shortland on the 18th day of September,
1883, and following days.

The maps of such of these lands as has been surveyed, can be seen at the Courthouse of the Resident
Magistrate, Grahamstown.

These claims were advertized for hearing before the Court at Whitianga on the 11th of July, 1883, but
were specially adjourned by that Court to the first session of the Native Land Court at Shortland.

SCHEDULE.

No. Names of Claimants. Names of Blocks. Boundaries.
1 Rawiri Taiporutu, Anaru Pahupahu, and others Kuaotunu near Whitianga Commence at Te Waihirere on the northern side, ascend to the eastern side of Pakiuma, continue along the ridge, Te Kiripaka, along the western side of Pungarehuroa as far as Honia; turn to the South, along the boundary of Waitara as far as Tutakirua, continue to Te Tutu, turn to the boundary of Mapauriki, continue, and arrive at the Mapauriki Stream, proceed along the stream on the western side as far as the boundary of Matarangi, turn eastward, and proceed as far as Owaria, continue along the ridge to Apereakahu (this is on the shore), turn to the East along the shore, Okarorea, arrive at Te Waihirere, and stop.
2 Henare Whakarongohau Kuaotunu No. 3, near Whitianga Commence at the boundary of Waitaia, proceed, Te Taukaka, Te Tutu; the survey line of Tanguru is the boundary on the West; the survey line of Kawakawa and of Te Takapauohoka is the boundary on the South; and the sea is the boundary on the East, as far as the boundary line of Waitaia, the starting-point.
