the West by part of Section No. 337 of said Block XI.,
Opotiki Survey District, 800 links; on the South by Crown
land, 661 links; and on the East by Crown land, 755 links:
as the same is more particularly delineated on the Opotiki
Record Map in the Survey Office, Auckland. As a site for a
Native school.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement 11 acres 3 roods, more or
less, being Section No. 2597 (in red), situate in the Grey
Survey District. Bounded towards the North by a tributary
of the North branch of the River Kowai; towards the East
by Section No. 27071, 1840 links; towards the South, South-
west, West, and North-west, by road lines a distance
altogether of 6296 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less; as the same is delineated on plan deposited in the
District Survey Office, Christchurch. For a gravel-pit.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods, more or
less, being Section No. 2594 (in red), situate in the Ellesmere
Survey District. Bounded towards the North-east by Reserve
No. 1105 (in red) and a line in continuation of its south-west
boundary, 500 links; towards the South-east, South-west, and
North-west by Crown lands, distances respectively of 1600
links, 500 links, and 1600 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less; the South-east boundary to be a line in con-
tinuation of the South-east boundary of Reserve No. 1105.
Save and excepting portion of the present Little River Rail-
way-line situate within the above-described section. As the
same is delineated on plan deposited in the District Survey
Office, Christchurch. For railway purposes.

OTAGO.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 23 poles, more or less, situate
in the Town of Cromwell, and being Section No. 10 of Block
III. of said town. Bounded towards the North by Sections
Nos. 31 and 32 of same block, 84.20 links; towards the East
by Section No. 9 of same block, 255.12 links; towards the
South by Melmore Street, 33.33 links; and towards the West
by Section No. 11 of same block, 250 links: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. For municipal purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 5 perches, more or less, situate
in the Town of Cromwell, and being Section No. 20 of Block
III. of said town. Bounded towards the North by Section
No. 25 of same block, 33.33 links; towards the East by
Section No. 19 of same block, 100 links; towards the South
by Melmore Street, 33.33 links; and towards the West by
Section No. 21 of same block, 100 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less. For municipal purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 37 perches, more or less,
situate in the Town of Cromwell, and being Sections num-
bered respectively 2 and 32 of Block IV. of said town.
Bounded on the North by Section No. 31 of same block, 200
links; towards the East by Erris Street 100 links, also by
Section No. 1 of same block, 100 links; towards the South
by said Section No. 1 33.33 links, also by Sections numbered
respectively 3, 4, 5 and 6 of same block, 133.34 links; and
towards the West by Section No. 3 of same block 100 links,
also by Section No. 7 of same block, 100 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For municipal purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 21 perches, more
or less, situate in the Town of Cromwell, and being Sections
numbered respectively 12, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27, of Block
IV., of said township. Bounded towards the North by Innis-
court Street, 400 links; towards the East by Section No. 28
of same block 250 links, by Section No. 11 of same block
250 links, also by Section No. 15 of same block 150 links;
towards the South by Sections numbered respectively 10 and
11 of same block 66.66 links, by Melmore Street 38.34 links,
by Sections numbered respectively 13, 14, and 15 of same
block 100 links, also by Sections numbered respectively 16,
17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 of same block, 200 links; and towards
the West by Achil Street, 400 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less. For municipal purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 7 perches, more or less, situate
in the Town of Cromwell, being Section No. 6, Block VI., on
the map of the said town. Bounded towards the North-west
by Section No. 7, 150.39 links; towards the North-east by
Ballina Street, 33.34 links; towards the South-east by Section
No. 5, 133.68 links; and towards the South-west by Section
No. 23, 37.28 links. For municipal purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 4 perches, more or less, situate
in the Town of Cromwell, and being Section No. 16 of Block
VI. of said town. Bounded towards the North-west by
Section No. 17 of same block, 68.84 links; towards the
North-east by Pillala Street 52.06 links, also by Ballina

Street 24 links; and towards the South-east by Section No.
15 of same block, 82.80 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For municipal purposes.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve.

WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," it is,
amongst other things, enacted that the Governor
may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or
alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter
vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the pur-
poses named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any
reserves made under the authority of section one hundred
and forty-four of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the
opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose
of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or pre-
sumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other pur-
pose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expe-
dient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve
for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more
purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by
notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such
change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in
such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same
is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," aforesaid, declare
my intention to change the specific purpose of a portion of
the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule
hereto, the area of which is described in the second column
of the said Schedule, to the specific purpose set opposite such
description in the third column of the said Schedule.

Section No. 198 (in red), 3,556 acres, in the Waipara District, Provincial District of Canterbury, for a quarantine-ground for sheep All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 85 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 2,598 (in red), situate in the Waipara and Waikari Survey Districts, and bounded towards the North-east by the terrace north-east of the Racecourse; towards the West by Reserve 198, 1857 links; and towards the South and South-west by road lines, a distance altogether of 5794 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less, as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch For recreation-ground.

this seventeenth day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-three.
