A deposit of one-twentieth of the amount of purchase-money
will also be required to be made at the same time.
In case of more than one application being received for the
same section on the same day, the right to occupy the same will
be decided by lot amongst the applicants.
Personal residence required within six months, to continue to
the end of the sixth year. Must bring into cultivation not less
than one-twentieth the first year; one-tenth the second year;
and, within six years, must have cultivated one-fifth, and
effected permanent improvements to the value of Β£1 per acre.
Plans may be seen at the Land Offices at Christchurch and
Timaru.

Description of Land. The Kopuaranga and Mikimiki
sections include forest land, mixed timber, more or less
totara, soil good throughout, part limestone, well watered,
and most of the sections approachable by good roads. The
Kaiwaka sections (near the White Rock, East Coast) include
fair soil, partly covered with mixed timber and scrub, easily
cleared.

Terms of Payment: For the cash sections one-fourth must
be paid on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with
Crown-grant fee, within one month from day of sale.
Maps showing the position of these sections may be seen at
the Land Office, Wellington. Lithograph maps and schedules
may be seen at all the district post-offices; copies will be
forwarded on application.

visions of "The Land Transfer Act, 1870," unless caveat be

NOTICE is hereby given that a statutory declaration of
the loss of Certificates of Title in favour of ELIZA-
BETH FRASER for that piece of land called or known by
the name of Piraurahi No. 5, containing 5 acres, situated in
the District of Thames, and being the whole of the land in-
cluded in Vol. xxiii., folio 229, of the Register Book; also, for
that other piece of land called by the name of Puamanuka
Block, containing 14 acres, situated in the said District of
Thames, being the whole of the land included in Vol. xxiii.,
fol. 230, of the Register Book, having been filed in this office,
and application having been made for the issue of Provisional
Certificates for the same, it is my intention to issue such
certificates unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same on
or before the 27th day of August next.

certain dealings affecting land comprised in Certifi-
cate of Title, Vol. i., folio 112, by PHILIP RODERICK
MCRAE, of Blairich, Awatere, Runholder, and also for the
issue of a provisional certificate, and evidence having been
tendered of the loss of the certificate of title, and that the
same is not deposited as security, notice is hereby given that
a provisional certificate will be issued and the said dealings
registered unless good cause to the contrary be shown before
the 5th September next. And also, application having been
made to me by WILLIAM RALPH SCOTT, of Nelson,
Master Mariner, registered proprietor of land comprised in
Certificate of Title, Vol. i., folio 208, for the issue of a pro-
visional certificate, and evidence having been tendered of the
loss of the certificate of title, and that the same is not
deposited as a security, notice is hereby given that a provi-
sional certificate will be issued unless good cause to the con-
trary be shown before the 5th September next.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately sub-
sisting between us, the undersigned, ROBERT TAPPER
and DUNCAN CARMICHAEL, carrying on business as Farmers
and Graziers, under the style or firm of "Tapper and Car-
michael," was this day dissolved by mutual consent, as
witness our hands, this 21st day of July, 1883.
