Application for a Patent.

Wellington, 25th July, 1883.

PATENT for a Base for Artificial Teeth, known as the
"Trinidia Colluloid Base."

ALFRED WILLIAM CHATFIELD, of Auckland, in the Pro-
vincial District of Auckland, New Zealand, has deposited at
this office a specification of the said invention; and I have
appointed Friday, the 28th day of September next, at 11
o'clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the said appli-
cation and all objections thereto; and I require all persons
having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters
Patent to leave, on or before the 13th day of September
next, at this office, particulars in writing of their objections
to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded from
urging the same.

Commissioner for taking Acknowledgments appointed.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, CANTERBURY
DISTRICT,

In the matter of an Act, 3 and 4, William IV., c. 74, and of
"The Conveyancing Ordinance, 1842," and the several Acts
amending the same; and in the matter of Henry Cotterill,
Gentleman, a Solicitor of this Honourable Court.

NOTICE is hereby given that, by an order of his Honour
Alexander James Johnston, dated the thirteenth day
of July, 1883, Henry Cotterill, of Christchurch, in the said
district, Solicitor, was appointed a perpetual Commissioner
for taking acknowledgments by married women pursuant to
the said Acts.

Gold Fields Notices.

Special Claim cancelled.

Mines Department,
Wellington, 23rd July, 1883.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has
been pleased to pronounce the under-mentioned special
claim cancelled, and that the ground is now open for appli-
cation as if no lease of the said ground had ever been
applied for:-

O. Mackin and J. B. Bond, one mile of Cardrona River,
being Section la, containing 193 acres 2 roods 21 perches,
more or less, Cardrona District, Otago Gold Fields.

Gold-Mining Lease cancelled.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned gold-
mining lease has been declared cancelled, and that the
land is now open for application or occupation by holders of
miners' rights as if no lease of the same had ever been
applied for:-

IN conformity with the twenty-fourth clause of the Gold-
Mining Regulations, it is hereby notified that
the under-mentioned certificates have been declared void,
and that the land is now open for application or occupation
by holders of miners' rights as if no lease of the same had
ever been applied for :-

639c. Matthew Fisher and John Poulter, Section 4,
Block XIII., Shotover.

640c. Timothy Collins, Section 30, Block XI., Shotover.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under
that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes,
it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of
Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicants
specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged
with the Warden at Lawrence on or before the 16th day of
August, 1883.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be
seen at the Warden's Office at Lawrence.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: The Tuapeka Prospecting and Mining Com-
pany (Limited.) Style under which it is intended to conduct
the business: The Tuapeka Prospecting and Mining Com-
pany (Limited.) 7 acres 1 roods 6 perches, in the Tuapeka
Mining District. (Section 67, Block X., Tuapeka East.)

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

Crown Lands Notices.

Lands for Sale on immediate Payment for Cash, Land
District of Canterbury.

Land Office, Christchurch,
14th June, 1883.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned lands
will be open for application on immediate payment for
cash, at the Land Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, the 18th
day of September next, as Village Allotments :-

Reserve 1824, Springfield, Malvern: Lots 1 to 11 inclusive,
27 to 33 inclusive, and 35 to 45 inclusive, about 1 acre each;
price, £5 per allotment. Lots 53 to 56 inclusive; in areas of
from 3 to 8 acres each; price, £5 per acre.

No one person is allowed to purchase more than one of the
above sections. In case of more than one application being
received for the same section on the same day, the right to
acquire the same will be decided by auction amongst the
applicants.

Plans may be seen at the Land Offices, Christchurch and
Timaru.
