WHEREAS the valuation roll prepared by the Property-
Tax Commissioner under "The Rating Act, 1882," was
not furnished to the Waitaki Road Board in sufficient time to
prepare therefrom the ratepayers' roll, as required by section
forty-one of "The Road Boards Act, 1882," and the election
of members of the Board for the said road district has not, con-
sequently, been held during the month of June last, as required
by an Order in Council made under the said "Road Boards
Act, 1882," and dated the seventeenth day of May, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-three; and it is expedient to
further extend the time for holding the election in the said
road district:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities vested in him by "The
Road Boards Act, 1882," doth hereby order and declare that
the time for holding the election of members of the said
Waitaki Road Board under the last-mentioned Act is hereby
extended, and that such election may take place before the
seventh day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
three.

WHEREAS the Board of the Amuri Road District have,
from want of a quorum, been unable to appoint a day on
which to hold an election as required by the thirty-first section
of "The Road Boards Act, 1882," within the extended time
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers vested in him by the said "Road Boards
Act, 1882," doth hereby order and declare that the time for
holding the general election of members of the Amuri Road
Board under the said Act is hereby further extended, and that
such elections may take place during the month of July, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

Members of Pelorus Road Board, County of Marlborough,
appointed.

HIS Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased
to appoint
JOHN BOWN and
JAMES HUGHES
to be Members of the Pelorus Road Board for the Pelorus
Valley Subdivision of the Pelorus Road District. The rate-
payers of the said district having failed to elect, and "The
Counties Act, 1876," not being in operation in the County of
Marlborough, the above is made under section 37 of "The Road
Boards Act, 1882."

to be Members of the Amuri Road Board. The ratepayers of
the Amuri Road District having failed to elect, and the Amuri
County Council having failed to appoint, the above appoint-
ments are made in accordance with section 37 of "The Road
Boards Act, 1882."
