Gold Fields Notices.
Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The Mines
Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under that Act
for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby
notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for
gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed
Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such
lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds
of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the
Warden at Reefton on or before the 20th day of July, 1883.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen
at the Warden's Office at Reefton.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: Patrick Brennan. Style under which it is intended
to conduct the business: "Columbus Gold-Mining Company."
16\frac{1}{2} acres, left-hand side of Rainy Creek going up the stream,
about 200 yards from its junction with the Inangahua River,
Nelson South-West Mining District.
Given under my hand, at Nelson, this fifteenth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

Applicants for any of the above lands may also send their
applications and deposits, with statutory declaration as required
by "The Land Act, 1877," through the post to the Land Office,
New Plymouth, to arrive on or before Monday, the 30th July.
Envelopes should be marked "Application for Deferred-payment
Land, Survey District."
In the event of more than one application being received for
any one section, the right to occupy the same will be decided by
public auction, at New Plymouth, on Wednesday, the 1st
August, at 11 o'clock a.m.
