THE following special order, made by the Council of the
County of Waikato, is published in accordance with the
provisions of "The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act,
1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT a special order be now made whereby the Waikato
County Council delegates to the Cambridge and Tamahere Road
Boards and to the Cambridge North Town District Board the
power to levy rates for the maintenance of main roads in their
respective districts, and for such other purposes as may be
agreed on.

I certify that the foregoing special order has been made in
accordance with law.

THE following special order, made by the Council of the
County of Manawatu, is published in accordance with
the provisions of "The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act,
1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.
BY-LAW NO. 4: The owner of any pig or goat found running
at large shall be deemed guilty of an offence, and shall upon
conviction forfeit and pay any sum not exceeding Β£2, and not
less than 10s., for every pig or goat so found running at large,
to be recovered in the manner provided by the 208th clause
of "The Counties Act, 1876."

I certify that the above special order was made by the
Manawatu County Council at a meeting held on the 5th June,
1883, and that the said order was made in accordance with
clauses 32 and 33 of "The Counties Act 1876 Amendment
Act 1882."

By-Law and Special Order made by the Council of the County of Amuri.

THE following by-law and special order, made by the Council
of the County of Amuri, are published in accordance with
the provisions of "The Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act,
1882."

AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.
IN pursuance of powers vested in County Councils by "The
Counties Act, 1876," and the Amendment Act, 1882, the Amuri
County Council ordain as follows:---

BY-LAW NO I., REGULATING THE GRANTING OF LICENSES TO
PEDLARS AND HAWKERS.

  1. From and after the commencement and coming into
    operation of this by-law it shall not be lawful for any person
    to carry on the business of a pedlar or hawker in any place
    whatsoever within the Amuri County without having previously
    obtained a license as hereinafter directed; and if any person
    shall, without having first obtained such license, carry on such
    business within any part of such county, he shall, on conviction,
    be liable to a penalty not exceeding Β£5 for every such offence.

Burden of Proof of being licensed.
2. Every person carrying on such business as aforesaid shall
be deemed and taken to be unlicensed, unless he shall prove to
the contrary by the production of his license or otherwise.

Form of License.
3. Pedlars' licenses shall be in the form of the First Schedule
hereto, authorizing the holder thereof to carry on his own person
his wares and merchandise for the purpose of sale; and a
hawker's license shall be in the form of the Second Schedule
hereto, authorizing the holder thereof to carry his wares and
merchandise, for the purpose of sale, by pack-horse or other
animal, or by cart or other vehicle; and such license shall be
signed by the Chairman of the County Council for the time
being.

Application to be made to the County Clerk.
4. Every person desirous of obtaining a pedlar's or hawker's
license shall deliver to the County Clerk a notice in writing
applying for the same; which notice, if the application be for a
pedlar's license, shall be in the form of the Third Schedule
hereto; and, if the application be for a hawker's license, such
notice shall be in the form of the Fourth Schedule hereto.
