TERMS FOR FREEHOLD AGRICULTURAL SECTIONS.
10 per cent. cash.
15 per cent. in three months.
25 per cent. in two years, by bills.
25 per cent. in four years, by bills.
25 per cent. in seven years, by bills.
Bills bearing interest at the rate of 6 per cent. per annum.
Township sections, terms cash. Village sections, one-fourth
cash; balance by bills in twelve months, bearing interest at
6 per cent.
NOTE.—A title under the Land Transfer Act will be given to
purchasers three months after the sale, when the first and
second instalments, amounting to 25 per cent. purchase-money,
shall have been paid.
Interspersed throughout the above lands are 32 sections,
ranging from 34 to 348 acres each, and now advertised by the
Commissioner of Crown Lands as open for perpetual leasing, in
terms of "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1882." Tenders
for these sections will be received up to Tuesday, the 5th June,
and the result will be declared by the Land Board on the day
preceding the day of sale of the freehold sections above described.

perpetual leasing, see Crown lands advertisements in Otago
Daily Times and Witness.
The auctioneer will be happy to supply plans and further
particulars on application at the Crown Lands Office, Dunedin.

Tenders for Leases of Rural Lands.
EDUCATION RESERVE.—STRATH-TAIERI ESTATE.
3,000 ACRES, WITH PERPETUAL RIGHT OF RENEWAL.
Leases for Thirty Years.
WRITTEN Tenders (in sealed covers) are invited for the
sections in the districts as given in the Schedule here-
under, in accordance with "The Land Act 1877 Amendm
Act, 1882."
TENDERS.
The price tendered must be given in writing as well as in
figures, accompanied by a statutory declaration, together with
six months' rent at the rate tendered, and 30s. fee for lease and
registration, to be lodged with the Commissioner of Crown
Lands, at the Crown Lands Office, Dunedin, not later than
4 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 5th June, 1883.
The tenders will be opened at the meeting of the Land
Board on Wednesday, the 6th June (the following day), at
11 o'clock a.m., when the highest tenderer (if the tender shall
equal or exceed the upset annual rental per acre fixed by the
Board) will be declared the lessee.
The tenderers must appear at the Land Board, either in
person or by an agent authorized in writing, on the day on
which the tenders are opened.
Forms of tender and declaration (with covers or envelopes)
can be had upon application at the Crown Lands Office,
Dunedin, or at any of the respective District Land Offices,
viz., Invercargill, Lawrence, Clyde, Queenstown, Switzers
(Waikaia), and Naseby. The numbers of the section and block,
with the name of district, must be written on the covers. The
letter being on "Public Service only," and addressed to the
Commissioner of Crown Lands, need not be stamped, being free
of postage; neither does the declaration require to be stamped.
Any person of the age of eighteen years and upwards may
become a lessee under this system. In the event of any person
tendering for two or more leases, the deposit of a sum equal to
one half-year's rent of the tender largest in amount shall be
sufficient, together with a sum of 30s. to pay for the lease and
registration thereof, paid either in cash, marked cheque, or bank
draft, made payable to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Dunedin:
Provided that in the case of a person tendering for two or more
leases, such as he may in the aggregate become the lessee of
under the Act, namely, in the case where the lands comprised
in the several leases adjoin each other, in such case the deposit
shall be a half-year's rent at the rate tendered for each such
lease, and also the sum of 30s. in respect of each such lease, the
fee for preparation and registration of same.
NOTE.—Limits of area for each lessee: No lease shall be
made to any person owning, nor shall any person be capable of
becoming the lessee under a lease, or a sublessee who owns, any
freehold land, or land held under lease or license under the
Crown, whereby such person shall become either the owner,
tenant, or occupier in the whole, either by himself, or jointly
with any other person or persons, including the lands comprised
in the lease of a greater area than 640 acres anywhere in the
colony.

APPLICATIONS will be received at the Crown Lands Office,
Dunedin, or at any Land Office in the Otago Land Dis-
trict, on Friday, the 15th June, 1883,—
For Sections Nos. 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33, Block IV., Section
No. 2, Block VI., Catlin's District; Sections Nos. 2, 3, 6, 7, and
8, Block VIII., Warepa District; containing from 60 to 317
acres.
NOTE.—If more than one application is received for any of
the above deferred-payment sections, tenders for such section
or sections must be lodged on Tuesday, the 26th June, to be
opened at the Land Board on Wednesday, the 27th June.
Forms of tender and cover can be had on application to the
Crown Lands Office, Dunedin.

By auction, at the Courthouse, Balclutha, on Thursday, the
28th June, 1883, at noon.
Sections Nos. 1 and 3, Block VII., Catlin's District (grouped
as one allotment), 716 acres; Section No. 4, Block VI., Catlin's
District, 535 acres; Sections Nos. 2 and 3, Block X., Kuriwao
District (grouped as one allotment), 1,115 acres; Section No. 4,
Block X., Kuriwao District, 502 acres; Sections Nos. 9 and 10,
Block VIII., Warepa District, 715 acres.
NOTE.—Intending purchasers must hand to the auctioneer
the statutory declaration required by the 83rd clause of "The
Land Act, 1877," which it is not now necessary to have
stamped.
