Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such leases.
Objections to the granting of such leases, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Westport on or before the 21st day of May, 1883.
Copy of the applications made and plans annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Westport.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: Frederick Ray. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “The Monature Gold-Mining Company.” 16 acres 2 roods, western side of Smile of Fortune and Great Republic, Stoney Creek, near Waimangaroa, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.
Applicants: John Ahearn and Christian Rasmussen. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “The Conditional Gold-Mining Company.” 16 acres 2 roods, adjoining the Kawatiri lease on the north, Stoney Creek, near Waimangaroa, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.

Applicants: Christian Rasmussen and Frederick Ray. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “Danish Crown Gold-Mining Company.” 16 acres 2 roods, north of and adjoining the Constitutional Gold-Mining lease, Stoney Creek, near Waimangaroa, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.
