IN pursuance of the power vested in me by the ninth section
of "The Tea Examination Act, 1882," I do hereby prescribe
that the fee to be paid for each analysis made by any Analyst
under the said Act shall be five shillings.

Gold-Mining-Lease refused. -Nelson South West Gold
Fields.

NOTICE is hereby given that the gold-mining lease applied
for by Samuel Turner, John Perrain, and Bernard Shep-
herd, for the Advance Company, 5 acres, more or less, the
Basin, Darkies Creek, Charleston, has been refused; and the
ground (except the portion held by S. Turner and party as
an extended claim) is now open to persons holding miners'
rights or business licenses, as if a lease of the said ground had
not been applied for.

Applications for Gold-Mining Leases forfeited.

IT is hereby notified that the land described in the under-
mentioned applications for gold mining leases is now open
to persons holding miners' rights or business licenses, or to
applicants for a lease, the applicants having failed to comply
with the provisions of Regulation 19, Part IV., Appendix A,
"Mines Act, 1877:"-

Richard Killeen, the Banshee Gold-Mining Company; dated
12th September, 1882, for 16 acres 2 roods, south of the
Republic Company, Waimangaroa.

Charles Lampfert and party, the Golden Spur, Gold-Mining
Company; dated 15th September, 1882, for 16 acres 2 roods,
north of the Great Republic, Stone Creek, Waimangaroa.

Gold-Mining Lease Certificate declared void.

IN conformity with the twenty-fourth clause of the Gold-
Mining Leases Regulations, it is hereby notified that the
under-mentioned certificate has been declared void, and that the
land is now open for application or occupation by holders of
miners' rights, as if no lease of the same had ever been applied
for:---

836c. James Clark Brown; Section 6, Block XIX., and
Section 66, Block X., Tuapeka East, containing 9 acres 1 rood
and 5 perches, in the Tuapeka Mining District.

Given under my hand at Dunedin, this fourth day of
January, 1883.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The Mines
Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under that Act
for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby
notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for
gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified in the annexed
Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such
lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds
of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the
Warden at Ross on or before the 3rd day of February, 1883.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen
at the Warden's Office at Ross.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: Geoffrey William Furkert and others. Style
under which it is intended to conduct the business: "Golden
Reef Quartz-Mining Company." 16 acres, at Donelly's Creek,
in the Westland Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this second day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
three.

for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby
notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for
gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed
Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such
lease.

Warden at Reefton on or before the 25th day of January,
1883.

to conduct the business: "Deep Creek Quartz-Mining Com-
pany." 16 acres 2 roods, south of the Golden Garter Com-
pany's special-claim application, Merrigigs, District of Inanga-
hua, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this twenty-seventh
day of December, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

pany." 10 acres, at Dirty Mary's Creek, between O'Malley's
Creek and Sullivan's old workings, east of Addison's Road,
Addison's. Flat, Buller, in the Nelson South-West Mining
District.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this eighth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
