Order to take Land for Portion of Road, Gisborne to
Wairoa.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of
April, 1883.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in me by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other powers
enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, order that the road described in the Schedule
hereto shall be constructed on or through land held or occupied
by native owners, situated between the Opoiti Block and the
Native settlement near Te Reinga Falls.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Opoiti Survey District, Wairoa
and Cook Counties, in the Provincial District of Auckland,
containing 40 acres, more or less, being a road-line 100 links
in width. Commencing at a point near the northernmost corner
of the Opoiti Block, extending in a northerly direction through
Native land a distance of 4 miles 78 chains or thereabouts,
as marked on the ground, and joining the present bridle-road
from Gisborne to Wairoa, near the Native settlement, about
15 chains above the falls of Te Reinga.

Vesting Reserves in the Ashburton County Council.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of
April, 1883.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto were
reserved for the improvement and protection of the River
Ashburton: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it
is expedient to vest the said lands in the Chairman, Councillors,
and inhabitants of the County of Ashburton:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by section four of "The
Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare that, from and
after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve shall become
vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the
County of Ashburton, in trust for the improvement and pro-
tection of the River Ashburton.

SCHEDULE.
SECTION NO. 2494 (in red), 89 acres, more or less, in the
Westerfield Survey District.
Section No. 2495 (in red), 26 acres, more or less, in the
Westerfield Survey District.
Section No. 2496 (in red), 184 acres, more or less, in the
Westerfield Survey District.
Section No. 2497 (in red), 14 acres, more or less, in the
Westerfield Survey District.
Section No. 2498 (in red), 26 acres, more or less, in the
Westerfield Survey District.
Section No. 2499 (in red), 310 acres, more or less, in the
Westerfield Survey District.
Section No. 2500 (in red), 32 acres, more or less, in the
Westerfield Survey District.
Section No. 2501 (in red), 293 acres, more or less, in the
Spaxton Survey District.
Section No. 2502 (in red), 187 acres, more or less, in the

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
were reserved for the improvement and protection of the
Kaitangata Creek: And whereas, in the opinion of the
Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Chairman,
Councillors, and inhabitants of the Bruce County:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of
"The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserves shall
become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of
the Bruce County, in trust for the improvement and protection
of the Kaitangata Creek.

SCHEDULE.
ALL these separate parcels of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, containing by admeasurement a total acreage of 1 acre
2 roods, more or less, situate in the Township of Kaitangata:-
Firstly. All that portion to the west of Water Street
opposite Blocks XXXIV., XXIII., and XXIV. of said town,
containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less. Bounded
towards the West and North-west by the Kaitangata Creek,
1800 links; and towards the North-east by Water Street,
1600 links.
Secondly. All that portion to the west of Water Street
opposite Blocks XXV. and XXVI. of said town, containing by
admeasurement 1 rood, more or less. Bounded towards the
West and North-west by the Kaitangata Creek, 1000 links; and
towards the North-east and South-east by Water Street, 950
links.
Thirdly. All that portion to the west of Water Street opposite
Block XXVII. of said town, containing by admeasurement
12 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the West and
North-west by the Kaitangata Creek, 350 links; and towards
the South-east by Water Street, 340 links.
Fourthly. All that portion to the west of Water Street
opposite Block XXVIII. of said town, containing by admeasure-
ment 1 rood 20 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the
South-west, West, and North-west by the Kaitangata Creek,
800 links; and towards the South-east by Water Street, 450
links.
Fifthly. All that portion to the west of Water Street opposite
Block XXIX. of said town, containing by admeasurement
8 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the South-west,
West, and North-west by the Kaitangata Creek, 300 links;
and towards the South-east by Water Street, 220 links.
Sixthly. All that portion to the west of Water Street opposite
Blocks XXIX. and XXX. of said town, containing by admea-
surement 1 rood, more or less. Bounded towards the South-
west, West, and North-west by the Kaitangata Creek, 950
links; towards the North-east by Water Street, 830 links; and
towards the South-east by Water Street, 30 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less.

chanics' Institute (Incorporated).

in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said
land in the Clinton Public Library and Mechanics' Institute
(Incorporated):

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of
"The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserves
shall become vested in the Clinton Public Library and Me-
