IT is hereby publicly notified that, on account of failure to
elect a Warden for No. 5 Ward of the above Board, the
Manawatu County Council, at their last meeting, the 6th
March, 1883, have appointed, under "The Road Boards Act,
1882," Mr. WILLIAM MCDONALD to be Warden for No. 5
Ward of Otaki Highway District.

PURSUANT to the Act of Parliament 22 and 23 Vict., c. 35,
intituled "An Act to further amend the Law of Property,
and to relieve Trustees," notice is hereby given to all persons
claiming as next of kin of the above-named RICHARD LEE SMITH
BURY, late of New Haw, Addleston, in the Parish of Chertsey,
in the County of Surrey, Clerk in the Foreign Office (who died
at New Haw, aforesaid, on the 15th day of December, 1881,
intestate, and of whose estate and effects letters of administra-
tion were, on the 31st day of January, 1882, granted by the
Principal Registry of the Probate Division of Her Majesty's
High Court of Justice to EMMA STOREY BURY, Widow), that
they are required to send in such claims to the said Emma
Storey Bury, at the office of her solicitors, Messrs. Paine and
Brettell, Chertsey, in the County of Surrey, or to the under-
signed, Messrs. Trinders and Romer, of No. 14, St. Helens
Place, Bishopsgate Street Within, in the City of London, on
or before the 9th day of January, 1884, after which day the
said Emma Storey Bury will proceed to administer the estate
and effects of the said deceased amongst the persons entitled
thereto, having regard to the claims only of which she shall
then have had notice; and that the said Administratrix will
not be liable for the assets of the said deceased so administered
to any person of whose claim she shall not have had notice at
the time of such administration.

PANY OF NEW ZEALAND (LIMITED).

In the matter of a Bill intituled "An Act to confer Powers
upon the Guardian Trust and Executors Company of New
Zealand (Limited)."

NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be
made at the next session of the General Assembly of
New Zealand, by petition, for leave to bring in a Bill to be
intituled "An Act to confer Powers upon the Guardian Trust
and Executors Company of New Zealand (Limited);" and that
the objects of such Bill will be to enable the Guardian Trust
and Executors Company of New Zealand (Limited), being a
Company duly incorporated under "The Joint-Stock Com-

panies Act, 1860," to act as guardian, trustee, tutor, curator,
and executor or administrator, with or without the will
annexed, and to perform and discharge all the duties of such
offices, and to receive remuneration for such duties; and also
to act as committee and as receiver under or by virtue of "The
Lunatics Act, 1868," or other statute regulating proceedings
in lunacy; and also to act as accountant in bankruptcy, or
assignee or trustee on behalf of creditors, or receiver; also to
act as landbroker, attorney, or agent; and to act in such other
capacity and to transact such business as is specified in the
memorandum of association of the said Company, and to per-
form and discharge all the duties of such offices respectively,
and to receive remuneration for such duties. And notice is
hereby given that copies of the said Bill will be deposited in
the Examiner's Office within fourteen days after the commence-
ment of the said session.

Between the BANK OF NEW ZEALAND, Plaintiff, and WILLIAM
CRAIG, Defendant.

I, GARLAND WILLIAM WOON, Sheriff of the Wanganui
and Rangitikei District, hereby give notice that, under a
writ of fieri facias, duly issued out of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand, Wellington District, at Wellington, at the suit of
the Bank of New Zealand, the above-named Plaintiff, I have
taken in execution, at the suit of the said Bank of New Zealand,
the Execution Creditor, the equity of redemption of the said
Defendant, William Craig, in (1) all that parcel of land contain-
ing 12,062 acres, being part of Maungaporau Block marked
3958, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate
of title, Volume xx., folio 79; (2) all that parcel of land being
other part of the said Maungaporau Block, containing 4,000
acres, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate
of title, Volume xx., folio 80; (3) all those pieces or parcels of
land containing 515 acres and 32 perches, being the Sections
Nos. 149, 150, 151, 152, and part of Section No. 169, on the
plan of the right bank of the Wanganui River, comprised in a
conveyance dated the 9th day of December, 1878, registered in
the Deeds Registry Office, Wellington, as No. 33465. And I
hereby give notice that I intend to cause the said lands to be
sold at the auction-rooms of Freeman Rayney Jackson, at
Wanganui, on Wednesday, the 11th day of April, 1883, at two
o'clock in the afternoon, unless the debt, interest, and costs
payable under the said writ shall have been previously satisfied.
The Solicitor for the Execution Creditor is Henry Samuel
Fitzherbert, of Wellington, agent for Heber Newton, of
Oamaru.

THE THAMES VALLEY AND ROTORUA RAILWAY
COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that, in accordance with the pro-
visions of "The District Railways Act, 1877," the above-
mentioned—the Thames Valley and Rotorua Railway Company
(Limited)—have caused the middle line and direction of the
railway proposed to be constructed under the said Act to be set
forth on a plan and described in a book of reference, showing
the lands required to be taken for the same, and the names of
the owners and occupiers of such lands, so far as they can be
ascertained; and copies of the said plan and book of reference
have been deposited at the under-mentioned public places in the
district within which the said railway is intended to be con-
structed, namely,—
The Post Office, Morrinsville;
The Resident Magistrate's Court, Hamilton;
The Resident Magistrate's Court, Cambridge; and at
The Public Works Office, Wellington.
Notice is also hereby given that the area it is proposed to
constitute a railway district for the purposes of the said Act
contains 548,000 acres or thereabouts, bounded as follows, that
is to say,—
Commencing at the north-west corner of Motumaho No. 2
Block; thence north-easterly along the northern and western
boundary of the said block and north-western boundary of the
Taukoro Block to the Piako River; thence southerly along the
western bank of the Piako River to its junction with the
Waitakaruru Stream; thence south-westerly along the centre
of the said last-mentioned stream to its junction with the
Topehaehae Stream; thence south-easterly along the centre of
the last-mentioned stream to the south-east corner of the Te
Mutu No. 2 Block; thence by a straight line bearing N. 52° E.,
202 chains, to the surveyed road-line from Morrinsville to the
Matamata Road, through the Maungapu Block; thence easterly
