N.B.---Immediately after the sale of the above runs an area
of about 80,000 acres of land surveyed into sections of from 500
to 5,000 acres will be offered for sale on pastoral deferred
payments. Full particulars of these lands will appear in a
future advertisement, which will be issued about a fortnight
hence.

THE following Licenses of Runs, for a term of ten years,
from the 1st March next, will be offered by auction, at the
Land Office, Invercargill, at noon on Wednesday, the 28th
February next, under the general conditions contained in "The
Land Act, 1877," and "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act,
1879:"-
Run 154A, about 1,008 acres, adjoining Run 154, Avondale,
Southland County, Taringatura District. Upset rent (2d. per
acre), £8 8s. per annum. License fee, £5.
Run 302, about 7,050 acres, known as Eyre Creek, Southland
County, Eyre District. Upset rent (14d. per acre), £49 1s. 3d.
License fee, £7 10s.
Run 415A, about 7,500 acres, adjoining Run 173, Black-
mount, Wallace County, Takitimo District. Upset rent (d.
per acre), £15 12s. 6d. License fee, £7 10s.
Run 415B, about 4,300 acres, adjoining Run 166A, Bellmont,
Wallace County, Takitimo District. Upset rent (d. per acre),
£8 19s. 2d. License fee, £5.
Run 143, about 6,550 acres, adjoining Birchwood Estate,
Wallace County, Wairio District. Upset rent (2d. per acre),
£54 11s. 8d. License fee, £7 10s.

Run No. 171, about 4,250 acres. License for fourteen
years. Upset rental, £89 per annum.
Run No. 171A, about 4,210 acres. License for fourteen
years. Upset rental, £88 per annum.
Run No. 171B, about 3,850 acres. License for fourteen
years. Upset rental, £81 per annum.
Run No. 171c, about 4,800 acres. License for fourteen
years. Upset rental, £100 per annum.
Run No. 171D, about 4,850 acres. License for fourteen
years. Upset rental, £101 per annum.
Run No. 171E, about 7,350 acres. License for fourteen

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE.
The leases of the above runs will be sold subject to the
general provisions as to runs specified in the Land Acts, 1877,
1879, and 1882.
The rent of the runs from the date of the auction to the 1st
September, 1883, with license fee (£10), to be paid on fall of
hammer, either by cheque marked by banker or in cash, and
thereafter by half-yearly payments (in advance) on the 1st
March and 1st September in each year. Possession will be
given on the 1st March, 1884. Valuations for improvements
(if any), which shall in no case exceed three times the amount
of the average annual rent paid under the existing leases, are to
be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Dunedin, at time of
sale, in pursuance of sections 115 to 117 of "The Land Act,
1877."

Gold-Mining Lease.-Notice of Withdrawal of Application.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned application for
a gold-mining lease has been withdrawn, and that the
ground is now open for application as if a lease of the same
had never been applied for, viz. :-
No. 339. John Eyles and William Calverly Riley, for the
Aorere Gold-Mining Company; dated the 8th November,
1881, 16 acres, near Finney's Creek Quartz Ranges, Colling-
wood, in the Collingwood Mining District.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The Mines
Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under that Act
for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby
notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands
for gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against
such lease.
