Dog Registration Act extended to the County of Bay of
Islands.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation under "The Dog Registra-
tion Act, 1880," dated the sixth day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette of the ninth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one, the County of Bay of Islands was
excluded from the operation of the said Act: And whereas it
is expedient to extend the operation of the said Act to the said
County of Bay of Islands: Now, therefore, I, William Francis
Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said "Dog
Registration Act, 1880," do hereby declare that the operation
of the said Act is extended to the County of Bay of Islands,
and that such operation shall take effect from the first day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in
Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this sixteenth day of February, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

mouth Railway---Carlyle-Manutahi Section (Portion of).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation issued under the authority
of sections one hundred and twenty-two, one hundred
and twenty-three, and one hundred and twenty-four of "The
Public Works Act, 1876," the middle line of a further portion
of the line of railway from Foxton to New Plymouth (Carlyle
Branch), being one of the railways specified in "The Public
Works Act, 1879," was defined: And whereas pursuant to
the one hundred and twenty-fifth section of "The Public
Works Act, 1876," the Minister for Public Works has caused
to be made and, on the twenty-first day of April, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty, to be deposited in the office of the

Registrar of the Supreme Court at New Plymouth, in the
Provincial District of Taranaki, such maps and plans as were
necessary to explain the said further portion of the said line of
railway and the land through which the same passes, and such
maps and plans were referred to in such Proclamation as afore-
said: And whereas "The Public Works Act, 1879," enacts
that such of the railways mentioned therein as are unfinished
may be completed under the provisions of "The Public Works
Act, 1876,""The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act,
1878," and "The Public Works Act, 1879:" And whereas the
two hundred and twenty-ninth section of "The Public Works
Act, 1882," enacts as follows: Any public work authorized
under the authority of any Act repealed by this Act, or of any
Act or Ordinance repealed by "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
and any land required to be taken, purchased, or acquired for
such work, or anything commenced under any such authority
as aforesaid, may be continued, taken, purchased, or acquired,
executed, carried out, enforced, and completed under the provi-
sions of this Act: And whereas the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a part of the said
further portion of the said line of railway from Foxton to New
Plymouth:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred by sections one hundred
and thirty and two hundred and twenty-nine of "The Public
Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in
anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is taken
for a part of the said further portion of the said line of railway.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement
3 roods 30 perches, more or less, situate in the Carlyle
Survey District, Provincial District of Taranaki, being part of
Section No. 61, Carlyle Suburban, commencing at the north-
west corner of said Section No. 61. Bounded as follows:
North-easterly by Section No. 547, 762 links; South-easterly
by other part of Section No. 61, 252 links; and South-westerly
by railway land, 852 links, to starting point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement
1 rood 38 perches, more or less, situate in the Carlyle
Survey District, Provincial District of Taranaki, being part of
Section No. 547 in the Patea District, commencing at a point
660 links from the north-west corner of Section No. 61, Carlyle
Suburban, on the boundary between it and Section No. 547.
Bounded as follows: North-westerly by other part of
Section No. 547, 511 links; North-easterly by public road, 41
and 79 links respectively; Easterly by other part of Section
No. 547, 496 links; and South-westerly by Section No. 61,
Carlyle Suburban, 102 links, to starting point: be all the afore-
said linkages either more or less; and the same being more
particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 9806
