time caveat be lodged forbidding the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that a statutory declaration of the
loss of certificate of title in favour of ALEXANDER
CHARLES HUGHES TOVEY for Lots 136, 137, 138, 139,
142, 143, 144, and 145 of Section 2, Town of Tauranga, the
whole of the land included in Vol. i., folio 114, of the Register-
book, having beeen filed in this office, and application having
been made for the issue of a provisional certificate for the
same, it is my intention to issue such certificate, unless caveat be
lodged forbidding the same on or before the 23rd day of
February next.

Mining Notices.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
Totara, 11th January, 1883.
To the Mining Registrar at Ross, in the Totara Mining
District, and to all other persons whom it may concern.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water-
race to divert and use water for mining purposes, com-
mencing at a point at the head of the old Kohinoor Water-race,
in the Mikonui River, about two miles above the Bowen Road,
and terminating at Kenny and Co.'s special claim at Donoghue's.
The length of such race is four miles or thereabouts, two
miles of which is already constructed, and known as the old
Kohinoor Water-race, and its intended course is northerly.
The time estimated for construction and completion is
eighteen months.
The mean depth of such race is 3 feet, and the mean breadth
is 4 feet; and it is proposed to divert twelve Government-
heads of water.

To the Mining Registrar at Ross, in the Totara Mining District,
and to all other persons whom it may concern.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct a Water-
race to divert and use water for mining purposes, com-
mencing at a point where our present water-race terminates on
the terrace between the right- and left-hand branches of Don-
nelly's Creek; and thence across Donnelly's Creek, and on
along the terrace overlooking the right-hand branch of it on
the southern side of the creek; thence in a straight line in a
south-westerly direction to peg 2 on terrace overlooking Jones's
Creek; thence across Jones's Creek to peg 3 on range over-
looking left-hand branch of Robinson's Creek, and terminating
at Michel's special claim.
The length of such extension is three miles or thereabouts,
and its intended course is north-east by south-west.
Time estimated for construction and completion is two years.
The mean depth of such race is 4 feet, and the mean breadth
is 3 feet; and it is proposed to divert four Government-heads
of water.

Totara, 8th January, 1883.
To the Mining Registrar at Ross, in the Totara Mining Dis-
trict, and all other persons whom it may concern.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water-
race to divert and use water for mining purposes, com-
mencing at a point in Creek No. 1, a tributary of south side of
Hokitika River, three miles below the Gorge, taking ten heads
of water therefrom; crossing Creek No 2, taking ten heads of
water from it; crossing Creek No 3, taking ten heads of water
from it; crossing Creek No. 4, taking eight heads of water from
it; thence to Creek No. 5, taking four heads of water from it,
and forming a reservoir on line of race 300 square yards by 30
feet deep; thence to Creek No. 6, taking three heads of water
from it; crossing Creek No. 7, taking four heads of water;
also crossing Creek No. 8, taking three heads of water; crossing
Creek No. 9, a tributary of the Totara River, on the north side
one and three-quarter miles from the junction, taking four
heads of water; also Creek No. 10, two miles above the junction,
taking five heads of water from it; also Creek No. 11, two and
a half miles above the junction, taking six heads of water from
it, and forming by-washes at the reservoir and at every 10
chains along the line of race; then crossing with syphon the
Totara River through the Town of Ross, along the right-hand
branch of Jones's Creek, through the Greenland Company's
claim, and terminating 200 yards above the Mikonui Race, at
the head of Robinson Creek.
The length of such race is ten miles or thereabouts, and its
intended course east and west.
Time estimated for construction and completion is two
years.
The mean depth of such race is 5 feet, and the mean breadth
is 6 feet; and it is proposed to divert sixty-seven Government-
heads of water.
