Amalgamating Licensing Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities con-
ferred upon me by section three of "The Licensing Act
Amendment Act, 1882," I, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Licensing
Districts of Port Chalmers North, Port Chalmers East, and Port
Chalmers South shall be amalgamated under the name of the
Port Chalmers Licensing District, as from the ninth day of
February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three;
and that, as from the said date, the said Licensing Districts of
Port Chalmers North, Port Chalmers East, and Port Chalmers
South shall be abolished.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in
Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this seventh day of February, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.

Revoking the Setting-apart of Pastoral Lands for Sale on
Deferred Payments.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities con-
ferred upon me by the seventieth section of "The Land
Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1882," I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof,
the notification of the twenty-first day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two, by His Excellency the Governor,
setting apart the land enumerated in the Schedule hereto for
sale as pastoral land on deferred payments, shall be and the
same is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE.

RUN NO. 143, SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area comprising 6,550 acres, more or less, situated in
the Wairio Survey District. Bounded towards the North by
Sections Nos. 16, 92, 33, and 38; towards the East by Sections
Nos. 84, 87, and 15, and partly by Run No. 133; on the South
and South-west by lines of the following bearings and distances
respectively, viz.: 15,000 links, bearing 303°; 6,000 links, bear-
ing 270°; and 22,000 links, bearing 317° 22', to the southern
angle of Section No. 16 aforesaid, the starting point.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of
February, 1883.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS under the provisions of "The Electric Telegraph
Act, 1875," a certain regulation was made by Order in
Council, bearing date the twenty-second day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven, relating to the
destruction, in a particular manner, of original telegrams after
they had been kept a certain time: And whereas it is expe-
dient to revoke such regulation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in exercise and
pursuance of the power and authority vested in him by the
hereinbefore in part recited Act, and by "The Electric Tele-
graph Act Amendment Act, 1879," and by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby revoke the above-recited Order in Council, and doth
hereby, in lieu thereof, make the following regulation, that is to
say,-

All original telegrams shall be safely kept in the custody of
the Superintendent of Electric Telegraph Lines, at Wellington,
for the space of one year from the date thereof respectively,
after which period they shall be either burned or reduced to
