Wallace.

A PROCLAMATION.

W HEREAS by a Proclamation dated the thirty-first day
of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventh
day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two, the Town District of Otautau was duly constituted and
proclaimed under "The Town Districts Act, 1881," with the
boundaries described in the Schedule to the said Proclama-
tion, and which are also set forth in the First Schedule
hereto: And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries
of the said Town District of Otautau in the manner hereins
after set forth, and which said alteration does not exceed the
limits prescribed by the said Act for the area of a town
district:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers vested in me by the said "Town Dis-
tricts Act, 1881," do hereby alter the boundaries of the said
Town District of Otautau in the manner set forth in the
Second Schedule hereto, and do hereby declare that on and
after the first day of January next the said last-mentioned
boundaries shall be the boundaries of the said Town District
of Otautau.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

No. 18 of said Block II.; and thence by a right line to said
boundary-line: as the same is delineated on the plan depo-
sited in the District Survey Office, Invercargill.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Land District of Southland situated in
Aparima Hundred, and bounded towards the North by Sec-
tion No. 18 of Block II.; towards the North-west by said
section and Sections Nos. 20 and 21; towards the North-east
by Section No. 23, and by its south-western side produced to
the Jacob's River; towards the East by the said river to
Section No. 7; towards the South by that section; again
towards the East by said section to the Otautau River,
and by the Otautau and Jacob's Rivers to Section No. 20 of
Block I. of said hundred; towards the South-east by said
section, across a road-line; and towards the South-west by
Sections Nos. 24 and 23; again towards the North by Section
No. 3 of Block II.; again towards the West and South by
said section; again towards the West by the western side of
Kendal Street, and by that side produced to the Otautau
River; again generally towards the South-west by said river
to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of Section

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago, bounded
towards the North by Section No. 14, Block II., Aparima Hun-
dred, and the southern boundary of that section produced
across a railway reserve; thence towards the South-west by
that railway reserve to a point in line with the southern boun-
dary-line of Section No. 15, Block II., Aparima Hundred;
thence again towards the North by a right line to and by that
boundary-line of said Section No. 15 to the Aparima River;
thence towards the East generally by the Aparima River,
Section 5, Block II., Aparima Hundred, and the northern
boundary of that section produced across the Otautau River;
thence by that river to the southern side of Nantwich Street:
thence again by Section No. 5, Block II., Aparima Hundred, a
road-line, and Section No. 21, Block I., Aparima Hundred, to a
point in line with the northern boundary-line of Allotment
No. 19, Aparima Estate; thence towards the South generally
by a right-line to and by the northern boundary of said
Allotment No. 19, and by Allotment No. 20, across a road-
line, and by Allotment No. 72 of said Aparima Estate; and
thence towards the West generally by Allotment No. 71,
Aparima Estate, Sections Nos. 2 and 11, Block II., Aparima
Hundred, and the eastern boundary-line of the last-men-
tioned section produced across the Otautau River; and thence
by the Otautau River to Section No. 14, Block II., Aparima
Hundred: as the same is delineated on the plans in the Survey
Office, Invercargill.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-second day of December, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-three.
