rated in the Schedule hereto; and it is further declared
that the said sections of land shall be open for leasing by
the Commissioner of Crown Lands, at Blenheim, on the
twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-three, under the provisions of "The Land Act,
1877," at the prices and upon the terms stated in the said
Schedule hereto.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of December, 1883.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made
for public recreation in the Provincial District of Canterbury,
and known as the Cashmere Hills Recreation-ground, and
described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is
hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be
subject to the provisions of "The Public Domains Act,
1881;" and such domain shall hereafter be managed, ad-
ministered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said
Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Halswell Survey District,
Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasure-
ment 188 acres 3 roods 11 perches, more or less, being
Section No. 161 (in red). Bounded towards the North by
Section No. 2147, 4491-7 links; towards the East by Section
No. 20922, 5256 links; towards the South by Sections Nos.
11227 and 11170, 4049-6 links; and towards the West by the
Dyer's Pass Road; subject nevertheless to a road-line 1 chain
wide branching from the Dyer's Pass Road, and leading to
Section No. 11170: as the same is delineated on the official
map in the District Survey Office, Christchurch.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth
day of December, 1883.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the twelfth section of "The Public
Domains Act, 1881," it is, inter alia, enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time
delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred,
save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for
any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be
specified in such order, and that every such delegation may
from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked:
And whereas, pursuant to "The Public Reserves Act, 1881,"
by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land
described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought
under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of
the said "Public Domains Act, 1881:"
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate
all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned,
except the powers under or conferred by sections five and
twelve, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known
as the Cashmere Hills Domain Board, viz.,—
The CHAIRMAN of the SELWYN COUNTY COUNCIL,
FREDERIC JONES,
His WORSHIP the MAYOR of the CITY of CHRISTCHURCH,
WILLIAM VINCENT,
His WORSHIP the MAYOR of the BOROUGH of SYDENHAM,
JOHN THOMPSON BROWN, and
The CHAIRMAN of the HEATHCOTE ROAD BOARD
(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,–
- The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
the second Wednesday in each month, at eleven o'clock a.m.,
at the office of the Selwyn County Council, Christchurch,
or at such other time or place as may from time to time be
fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on
Wednesday, the ninth day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-four. - Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, or
by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
at such meeting. - Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
meeting may be adjourned from time to time. - The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second
Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
his successor. - If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
time appointed for holding the same, the members present
shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
such meeting. - If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
the office of Cha rman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chair-
man. - All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

North-eastward by Section No. 379; and Southward by
Section No. 1072, and by Reserve 128 (in red): and numbered
110 (in red) on the official map in the Survey Office, Christ-
church.
