PUBLIC NOTICE.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lands described in the
Schedule hereto are required to be taken by the
Council of the County of Selwyn for the purposes of a drain,
and that a plan showing the said lands, together with the
names of the owners and occupiers thereof, and the works
proposed to be executed, has been deposited and is now open
for inspection at the office of the Spreydon Road Board, at
Spreydon, in the said county. And notice is hereby further
given to all persons affected to set forth in writing any well-
grounded objections which they may have to the execution
of the said works or to the taking of such lands, and to send
such writing within forty days from the twenty-eighth day
of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three,
being the date of the first publication of this notice, to the
Chairman of the said Council, at Christchurch.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 30
perches or thereabouts, be the same more or less, being part
of the section numbered 1202 on the map or plan of the Chief
Surveyor of the Land District of Canterbury setting out and
describing the rural land in the Halswell District, commenc-
ing at a point on the western boundary of the said section
distant from the north-western corner thereof 817·8 links,
measured south-westerly and in a straight line along the
said western boundary, with a bearing of 208° 4'; thence
South-westerly and in continuation of the same straight line,
with a bearing of 208° 4', along the aforesaid western boundary
to a point, being a distance of 25·5 links; thence South-easterly
and in a straight line, with a bearing of 130° 6' 30", to a point
within the section being a distance of 749·5 links; thence
South-easterly and in a straight line, with a bearing of
122° 43', to a point being a distance of 20·1 links; thence
North-easterly and in a straight line, with a bearing of
27° 36', to a point being a distance of 23 links; thence North-
westerly and in a straight line, with a bearing of 310° 6' 30",
to the commencing point, being a distance of 769·7 links.

Also, all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 35
perches or thereabouts, be the same more or less, being part
of sections numbered 1660, 2437, on the map or plan of the
Chief Surveyor of the Land District of Canterbury setting
out and describing the land in the Christchurch and Halswell
Districts, commencing at a point on the northern boundary
of Section 1660, distant from the north-western corner thereof
530 links, measured south-easterly and in a straight line
along the aforesaid northern boundary, with a bearing of
97° 34'; thence South-easterly and in continuation of the
same straight line, with a bearing of 97° 34', to a point, being

a distance of 17·8 links, and which is the junction of Sections
1660, 2437; thence North-easterly and in a straight line, with
a bearing of 81° 30', to a point, being a distance of 20·5 links;
thence South-easterly and in a straight line, with a bearing
of 130° 6' 30", to a point on the eastern boundary of Section
2437, being a distance of 875·4 links; thence South-westerly
and in a straight line, with a bearing of 208° 4', along the
said eastern boundary of Section 2437 to a point, being a
distance of 25·5 links; thence North-westerly and in a straight
line, with a bearing of 310° 6' 30", to the commencing point,
being a distance of 909·1 links.

TOKOMAIRIRO ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD.

THE Tokomairiro District Road Board hereby gives notice
that, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act,
1882,” it proposes taking land for new road through Sections
4, 5, and 9, Block II., Akatore Survey District, on the plan of
Helensbrook Subdivision, in the County of Bruce, the pro-
perties of JOHN DRAPER, Farmer, Milton, and JOHN HIGGIE,
Farmer, Milton.
Plan, showing the land required to be taken for the same,
will be open for inspection at my office, Milton, on and after
Friday, the 2nd day of November, 1883.
Objections to the taking of such land to be sent in writing
to the undersigned on or before the 12th day of December,
1883.

THE WELLINGTON LAND AND BUILDING COM- PANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that a special resolution was, on
Wednesday, the 28th day of November, 1883, duly
passed by the Wellington Land and Building Company
(Limited), requiring the Company to be wound up volun-
tarily, and that the then Directors of the Company should
be appointed liquidators for the purpose of winding up the
affairs of the Company and distributing the property.
