visions of "The Land Transfer Act, 1870," unless caveat
forbidding the same be lodged at this office within one
calendar month after the date of the Gazette containing this
notice.

I, the undersigned, hereby make application to register
the Keep-it-Dark Gold-Mining Company as a Limited
Company, under the provisions of "The Mining Companies
Act, 1872."

  2. The place of operations is at Advance Peak, Macetown,
    Otago.
  3. The registered office of the company will be situated at

To the Mining Registrar at Naseby of the Mount Ida Mining
District, and all other persons whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-
race, and divert water for purposes of irrigation and
driving machinery, commencing at a point in the Cross Eden
Creek distant about 90 chains in a north-easterly direction
from my dwellinghouse at Maniatoto Station, said race
being about two miles and three quarters long, and terminat-
ing at a point in the eastern boundary of Section No. 2,
Block II., Gimmerburn District, distant about 60 chains
from the north-eastern angle of said section; said race being
of the mean breadth of 20 inches and depth of 8 inches; and
that it is intended to divert and carry in the said race two
heads of water; and that the said race is to be completed
within two calendar months of the day of the date hereof.

Dated at Maniatoto Station aforesaid, this 3rd day of
October, 1883.

DUNEDIN CITY TRAMWAYS.

In the matter of "The Tramways Act, 1872," and in the
matter of an application intended to be made by David
Proudfoot, of Dunedin, Contractor, for an order empower-
ing him to make, construct, and maintain, and to use and
work, certain additional lines of tramway and other works
in the City of Dunedin, under the provisions of the said
Act.

N OTICE is hereby given that, at the expiration of thirty
days from the publication hereof, application is in-
tended to be made to His Excellency the Governor of New
Zealand for an order empowering DAVID PROUDFOOT, of the
City of Dunedin, Contractor, to make, construct, and main-
tain, and to use and work, three several lines of tramway,
with necessary sidings and other works in connection there-
with, within the City of Dunedin. One of such lines of tram-
way to be a single line consisting of two rails laid at such a
gauge as will admit of the use thereon of engines and
carriages constructed for use upon a gauge of 3 feet 6 inches,
connecting with the main line of tramway in the said City
of. Dunedin-(described in an order made by the Governor of
New Zealand under the said Act, and dated the 13th
November, 1877, authorizing the said David Proudfoot to
construct certain lines of tramway within the said City of
Dunedin at the intersection of Princes Street and High
Street)-proper allowance being made for a radius or curve-
and extending thence in an easterly direction down the
centre of High Street to the intersection of that street and
Castle Street, and thence in a north-easterly direction
along the western side of Castle Street to the Water of
