NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
Waikaia District, 11th September, 1883.
To the Mining Registrar, at Waikaia, of the Otago Mining
District, and all other persons whom it may conccern.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct a
Water-race to divert and use water for mining pur-
poses, commencing at a point in McLean's Creek, Waikaia
Bush, and terminating at same creek via McLean and
Hutton's sawmill.
The length of such race is twenty chains or thereabouts,
and its intended course is east to west; the mean depth of
such race is 2 feet, and the mean breadth is 2 feet, and
it is proposed to divert three Government-heads of water.

To the Mining Registrar, at Naseby, of the Mount Ida Mining
District, and all other persons whom it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-
race and divert water. The commencement of the
proposed race is a point to the south of Section 6, Block
XIII., Maniototo District, in the Tailings Reserve, on the
eastern boundary of said Section 6. The point of termination
of the proposed race is in the southern boundary of Section 8,
Block XIII. aforesaid, between the north-eastern angle of a
road running between said Section 6 and Section 11, and the
north-western angle of such road. The intended course of
the said race is North-east. It will run through the southern
corner of the said Tailings Reserve; thence through Sections
6 and 7 aforesaid; thence across the said road; thence
through Section 11 and the Forest Reserve to the point of
termination.
The length of the said race will be about three-quarters of
a mile; its mean breadth will be 2 feet, and mean depth
about 1 foot. It is proposed to divert three Government-
heads of water.
Twelve months will be required for the construction. An
area of land to the extent of 3 feet on both sides of such race
and throughout the whole length will be required for the
purpose of depositing matter removed therefrom.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership which has
for some time past been carried on by DANIEL
MCKENZIE, CHARLES MCKENZIE, and ALEXANDER MCKENZIE,
in the Counties of Manawatu, Oroua, and Rangitikei, in the
trade or business of farmers, was this day dissolved by
mutual consent. And notice is further given that the said
business will be continued from the date hereof by DANIEL
MCKENZIE and CHARLES MCKENZIE, by whom all credits
due to the late firm will be received and debts paid.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately sub-
sisting between us, the undersigned, ARTEMAS CANDY
and BENJAMIN DEWSBURY, as Clothiers, at Christchurch, in
the Provincial District of Canterbury, in New Zealand,
under the firm of "Candy and Dewsbury," was, on the 22nd
day of August last, dissolved by mutual consent. The
business will henceforth be carried on by the said Benjamin
Dewsbury on his own account, who will pay all debts due by
the late firm. All debts owing to the late firm to be paid to
the said Artemas Candy.

day been dissolved by mutual consent. Mr. WARBURTON

COOK COUNTY.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
Cook County Council to undertake a certain public
work, to wit, the construction of a road through Sections
59, 60, 61, Muhunga Block, Block IX., Waimata Survey
District, and for that purpose to take the required land from
those sections.
The new road-line commences at the angle of main road
forming the south-western boundary of Section 59, and con-
tinues in a north-westerly direction through Sections 59, 60,
and 61, to the junction of the by-road with the main road
forming the western boundary of Section 61.
All persons affected by the execution of the proposed works
are called upon to set forth their objections in writing, and
send them to the office of the Cook County Council,
Gisborne, within forty days from this date.
The maps showing the proposed works are on view at the
office of the Council, Gisborne.

PURSUANT to "The Trustee Relief Act, 1862," notice is
hereby given that all creditors and persons having any
claims or demands upon or against the Estate of PHILLIP
LAWRENCE, late of Blenheim, in the Provincial District of
Marlborough and Colony of New Zealand, Auctioneer, de-
ceased (who died on or about the 5th day of October, 1882,
and whose will was proved by THOMAS HORTON, of Blenheim
aforesaid, merchant, the executor therein named, on the
13th day of October, 1882, in the Supreme Court of New
Zealand, Nelson District, at Blenheim), are hereby required
to send in the particulars of their claims and demands to the
said Thomas Horton on or before the 5th day of October next:
And notice is hereby also given that after that day the said
executor will proceed to distribute the assets of the deceased
among the parties entitled thereto, having regard only to the
claims of which the said executor shall then have notice:
And that he will not be liable for the assets, or any part
thereof, so distributed to any person of whose debt or claim
he shall not then have had notice.
