Defining the Middle Line of Portion of the Waitaki-
Bluff Railway.-Waipahi to Heriot Burn Branch.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the branch line of railway from Wai-
pahi to Heriot Burn from the main line,
Waitaki-Bluff Railway, is one of the railways speci-
fied in the First Schedule to "The Public Works
Act, 1879," and which Act is therein declared to be
a special Act authorizing the construction of such
railway; and the same is unfinished, and it has been
determined to construct and maintain a further
portion of such railway:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise and in pursuance of the powers and
authorities conferred on me by sections one hundred
and twenty-two, one hundred and twenty-three, one
hundred and twenty-four, and one hundred and
twenty-five of "The Public Works Act, 1876," and
in exercise of every other power and authority
enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the middle line of the said further por-
tion of the said railway shall be from a point in
Section number four, Block four, Township of Kelso,
to a point in Section number twenty-seven, Block
four, Greenvale Survey District, all within the Pro-
vincial District of Otago, as defined and set forth in
the Schedule hereto. The said middle line and the
land through which the same passes are set forth in
the map and plan marked P.W.D. 9212, and authenti-
cated for the purposes of this Proclamation by the
signature of the Honorable Walter Woods Johnston,
Minister for Public Works, and which said map and
plan is deposited in the office of the Registrar of the
Supreme Court at Dunedin, in the Provincial District
of Otago.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point situate in Section No. 4,
Block IV., Township of Kelso, the said point being
the termination of a portion of the Waipahi-Heriot
Burn Branch Railway, as described in a Proclamation
dated the 10th February, 1880, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 15, of the 19th February,
1880; proceeding thence in a generally north-north-
easterly direction for a distance of 4 miles 35 chains,
or thereabouts, and passing in, through or over the
IV., Sections Nos. 4, 3, 2, and 1; Block III., Sections
Nos. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1; Block II., Section
No. 5; Greenvale Survey District-Block II., Sections
Nos. 5 and 4; Block I., Sections Nos. 31 and 21;
and again Block II., Sections Nos. 6, 36, 37, 38, 39,
40, 41, 42; Block IV., Sections Nos. 7, 8, 9, and 27:
and terminating at a point in said Section No. 27
distant about 6 chains in a southerly direction from
the north-western angle of said Section No. 27; and
including all adjoining and intervening places, lands,
roads, reserves, streams, rivers, and watercourses;
all in the Provincial District of Otago and Colony
of New Zealand; as delineated on a plan marked
P. W.D. 9212, which plan is signed by the Hon.
Walter Woods Johnston, and deposited in the office
of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Dunedin,
in the said provincial district.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice,
the Administrator of the Government of
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of August, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two.

27th July, 1882, fixing the terms and conditions of sale of village-settlement lands, for "Such payment shall be deemed to
be a discharge of the license fee for the six months ending the 30th December, 1882," read "Such payment shall be deemed a
discharge of the licensee fee due on the 1st January, 1883."
