Land taken for Road in the County of Manawatu.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken under "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," for a certain work,
to wit, the construction of a road in Block five, Te
Awahou, Foxton, Manawatu :

And whereas the Manawatu County Council has
laid before the Governor the memorial and map
mentioned in and signed and certified as required
by the said Acts:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities in me vested
by sections twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three,
twenty-four, and twenty-five of "The Public Works
Act, 1876," and by section twenty-eight of "The
Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and
of any other power and authority enabling me in
that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby
taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from
and after the first day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two, the land so de-
scribed shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple
in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages,
charges, claims, estates, and interests of what kind
soever, for use as a road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 3 roods and 37 perches, more or
less, situate in the Township of Foxton, in the
Survey District of Manawatu, Provincial District of
Wellington, being portion of Block V., Te Awahou;
commencing at the southernmost corner of Section
No. 558 on the authenticated plan of the said town-
ship. Bounded-Generally Northerly by Johnston
Street, in the said township, 100 links; Easterly
by part of Block V. aforesaid, 983 links; Southerly
by Johnston Street aforesaid, 100 links ; and
Westerly by part Block V. aforesaid, 983 links.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-ninth day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two.

ERRATUM. In New Zealand Gazette No. 46, of 18th May, 1882, page 707, in appointment of Licensing Committees, for
"Thomas Archie," read "Thomas Archibald Fraser."
